Celebrating a wedding in Fuerteventura is to celebrate a wedding in one of the most impressive places in the world, and it is also to hit the mark.
The weather is always mild, so you can decide to celebrate your wedding at any time of the year without being afraid of bad weather since the temperature is very pleasant 360 days of the year.
These brides could have chosen to celebrate their wedding with pride in Madrid, but as good lovers of heat, the sea breeze, tanned skin and the sun’s rays, they opted for the island of Fuerteventura.
Catherine and Johana knew that this island was the perfect one to celebrate a destination wedding since it is well connected from any point in Europe.
So, get to know what this couple’s wedding was like, get inspired and say “I do” among the Guanches of the Canary Islands as these two beauties did.
The chosen place: the beach, of course
How many people wouldn’t like to have a beach wedding? And if it is on one of those in Spain, all the better, because with the many kilometres of beach that our country has, it is difficult not to be tempted.
And since we are in one of the places with the best beaches in the world, our brides did not want to get married anywhere else that was not between fine sand, waves, volcanic rocks and the sea breeze. A lovely backdrop!
Corralejo, El Cotillo, Jandia, Caleta de Fuste…which of the beaches of Fuerteventura would you choose to seal eternal love?
Some vintage and very romantic styles
The brides’ dresses were from Marco y María, two designers from Tenerife who have their own style, since vintage air and theatricality predominate in their designs.
Both dresses were full of fantasy and romanticism, where fabrics and embroidery of exclusive design and high quality took centre stage.
The two creations were made of loose fabrics such as chiffon, they were not tight at all and they had great free movement, so it provided a slight lift.
The necklines were also protagonists, since in both designs you could see the low backs and the arms open to the air.
One of the dresses had a deep V-neck and a light sleeve that subtly covered the shoulder, in turn, it was full of floral embroidery and sequins.
The other dress consisted of an unconventional halter neckline, as it was full of embroidery, like the whole dress.
Very little styled hairstyles
One of the brides had long hair and the other had short hair, but both opted for the same hairstyle: to wear it completely loose. Hair in the wind and live in the moment!
A very successful option since Fuerteventura means strong wind, yes, it is one of the windiest places and where there is a great swell! So wearing any updo will only be messed up with so much wind.

A most symbolic ritual
Catherine and Johana laughed non-stop, looked at each other, jumped and danced to the sound of the wind that washed the sea, the waves and the sand of the beach, where they had a very symbolic detail.
They sat down on two blankets located on the fine sand of this island, next to a silver tray and crystal glasses decorated with lace, where each one had their glass, they gathered their sand in the same bottle, as a symbol of union.
Photos captured with passion
The artist with a camera in hand was Rosa Garrido, the photographer who was not left without capturing neither the emotions nor the love story with a lot of light, and if the light is the one that bathes the Cantón de Maxorata, even better!
