So…don’t miss it and celebrate the wedding of your dreams on a beach in Spain! In addition, we will also give you a series of tips to organise a beach wedding!
Get comfortable, let’s begin!
Balearic Islands
Playa Atlantis (Ibiza)
This beach is not one of the best known on the island, but it is where one of the most beautiful landscapes can be found: the Cala d’Hort Natural Park, as well as a hippie atmosphere, carved rocks, natural pools, Buddhas, monoliths…for a most mystical wedding!
Playa de Sa Calobra (Mallorca)
After 14 km of curves we find this cove, which is made up of 25 metres of beach sheltered by cliffs more than 200 metres high. In it is the mouth of the Torrent de Pareis, a torrent that crosses the Sierra de Tramontana of Mallorca, magical to have in your wedding photos.
Playa de Ses Illetes (Formentera)
One of the beaches that take your breath away. These transparent waters that bathe the fine white sand will turn from the first moment into the private islet you want on your wedding. On this natural pier, you also have the opportunity to get married next to the mud baths on s’Alga beach. There’s nothing more unique!
Canary Islands
Playa de Sotavento (Fuerteventura)
More than 3km long, this beach of turquoise waters, a natural lagoon and less wind than on any other beach on the island, becomes one of the most attractive beaches to walk down the aisle and leave as newlyweds.
Dunas de Maspalomas (Gran Canaria)
Can I get married in a natural space? It’s possible! This beach is characterised by its dune system, unique in the world, where it also houses a number of species never seen anywhere else. We are sure that more than one camel will appear in your photo album!
Pozo de las Calcosas (El Hierro)
This difficult-to-access natural pool is usually frequented only by the closest locals, as few know about it. This bucolic place has strong waves and a landscape full of rocks that also doesn’t receive tourists, the perfect occasion to get married in private!
Charco de los Clicos or Charco Verde (Lanzarote)
Forming part of the Los Volcanes Natural Park, Charco Verde is a large crater open to the sea. This green lagoon that is connected to the sea by underground cracks will allow you to marry in front of a large number of suspended plants. Surely you don’t know anyone who has got married like this?
Andalusia
Playa de Zahora (Cádiz)
Located in Caños de Meca, Zahora is one of the most appropriate places to gather your loved ones and have an unforgettable day with a beach wedding. This beach is a beautiful stretch of fine white sand that has the Trafalgar Lighthouse as the setting and the Atlantic waves as a background melody.
Valencian Community
Playa del Saler (Valencia)
We travel to the Mediterranean coast, and the fact is that Valencian beaches have that magic that hooks everyone who visits them. Either because of its waves or the smell of saltpetre or fresh fish, this is one of the beaches in Valencia that no one can miss, and if it is to say “I do” then it’s even better!
Extremadura
Playa Orellana (Badajoz)
A beach with cement instead of sand? This one has it! But…wait, does Extremadura have a beach? It does, and it even has a blue flag! However, it’s a freshwater beach. If you want to stand out with a wedding on an indoor beach, Orellana beach is the beach for you!
Galicia
La Playa de las Catedrales (Lugo)
Named the fourth most beautiful in the world, this rock formation beach attracts tourists from all around the world. You even have to queue to be able to walk along its shore, to which you can only go until noon, since then the tide rises and the ocean floods the space! So, if you think this beach is for you, your wedding will have to be in the morning!
Murcia
Playa de la Manga del Mar Menor
All of those who dream of getting married on the beach and in Murcia, can do so in La Manga del Mar Menor, a name it receives from its shirt sleeve shape. This is one of the beaches where the best sunsets happen. How can you say no to this spectacular landscape?
Catalonia
Playa de Sitges (Barcelona)
What does Sitges have that makes you fall in love so much? It will be the great variety that it offers, since it allows you to get married in absolute privacy with a ceremony in the sand and in front of the Mediterranean waters and also be a step away from the city. For those more urban couples who want to get married in front of the sea!
Asturias
Playa Gulpiyuri
We go to the north to introduce you to this Natural Monument, a very small and special beach, do you know that the sea penetrates it through a tunnel that is between the rocky walls? You can get married on the rocks under which the water passes while you hear the peculiar noise that the water makes when it hits them!
Basque Country
Barrika Beach (Biscay)
Among its 600 metres of wild coastline, its beautiful cliffs, its exuberant rock formation and the fact that the entire beach disappears completely with the tide, this beach is one of the favourite settings for the brides and grooms that want to get married in a virgin enclave in the north. Don’t think twice!
Playa de Sakoneta (Guipúzcoa)
A beach that still remains in the wild is this one, where you will only find a group of nudists and a most enchanting landscape. Of course, keep in mind that the tide also rises a lot, so the best time to get married with the love of your life in La Sakoneta is to do it in the morning.
But when is the best time to get married on the beach?
Well, you can count on the months of April, May and June, as well as October and November. Why? Because in the summer months the beaches get crowded with tourists and we don’t want hundreds of people we don’t know staring in amazement!
Another option, if there is no other option, is to celebrate the wedding early or late, even after 9pm. There will be much less people and less heat, and you will have the sunset as the setting.
What do you need to get married on a beach?
Well, don’t worry because, although it might be tedious, nothing is impossible! You just have to request the permit from the town hall and pay a fee, which depends on each region.
