The “I do” in an olive grove farm

Yes, the couple chose Faín Viejo to gather their loved ones and get married. This olive grove farm was once a monastery, a Jesuit residence and even a prison during the Napoleonic invasion.

Faín Viejo is located in the vicinity of the municipality of Arcos de la Frontera, in Cádiz, surrounded by fields and a most peaceful environment thanks to its five hectares of gardens full of olive, orange, lemon, fig, almond, plum, walnut and pomegranate trees, palm trees and different ponds in the patios with colourful fish, surrounded by geese, chickens, peacocks, pigeons and pheasants.

The bride and groom, Lily and Piers, were able to enjoy this refined country house, that maintains all of its historical essence combined with modern comfort, with their guests.

They had all their rooms that maintain their stately character and that are decorated with antiques and works of art, such as their spacious rooms with safes, the library, the oil mill, the dining rooms and the galleries, with their own spring.

In addition, the bride and groom and their guests were able to spend the wedding night in the ten luxurious and original rooms at the venue (in the oil mill, in the old watchtower, with a library, with a fireplace or near the spring).

The decoration blended in harmony with the venue

The bride’s bouquet was, without a doubt, one of the most peculiar touches of the celebration, since as a nod to the orange trees found on the estate, the bride opted for a bouquet full of tangerines with their respective leaves plus leaves from the olive trees. A most attractive bouquet!

One of the most authentic corners and in perfect harmony with the surroundings was that of the vases of water with fruit and small cups of tea, decorated with wooden boxes, lemons, leaves from olive trees and yellow-tone straws.

Upon reaching the altar, the wooden lectern was also full of lemons and leaves, there was nothing that combined better with the shade of the lemon tree that sheltered the bride and groom while the wedding was being officialised.

At the end of the ceremony, the bride and groom were covered by lots of yellow petals, an alternative to the traditional rice. After that the bride and groom got on a motorcycle with a sidecar and with a yellow smoke bomb they headed to the welcome cocktail.

The reception, among rosemary and orange trees

At the end of the celebration, the welcome cocktail began, which was immediately filled with guests who enjoyed a few glasses of wine and some canapés to whet their appetite.

It is worth mentioning the seating plan, since this was a nod to how this authentic bride and groom met: doing Kite Surfing! That is why the two illustrations are so nice

The Faín Viejo catering team always offers dishes and high-quality preparation; therefore the decoration of the tables couldn’t be any less.

The reception tables were decorated with centrepieces full of white candles, leaves and oranges, the same fruits that adorned the traditional dishes of Faín Viejo, as well as rosemary leaves arranged on the serviettes.

On the other hand, the chairs of the bride and groom made a difference since they were presided over by two large circles of olive leaves.

Light bulbs were hung above as garlands that flooded the place with warmth and romance after sunset.

The styles were elegant, romantic and different

The groom was the first to be different with his style since, despite wearing a white shirt, he combined it with a pastel blue suit jacket.

As accessories, Piers added a touch of yellow with his socks and tie. For footwear he opted for dark brown suede Oxford shoes that combined perfectly with his characteristic black-rimmed glasses.

Regarding the brooch, the groom didn’t doubt for a second to pin on some olive leaves as a nod to the olive grove where he was getting married.

On the other hand, Lily opted for a short-sleeved V-neck wedding dress with a completely low-cut back, with illusion lace on the sides and on both legs, with small floral embroidery, thus giving a touch of sensuality.

As for her makeup, Lily was beautiful and looked very natural thanks to her nude brown eyeshadow with a fine black outline. For her hairstyle, she chose a half-up look with plaits and flower pins on either side.

We can’t forget to mention the pastel blue sandals with a gold heel that matched the groom’s suit jacket. It’s said that the bride must wear something blue, something new and something borrowed!
