An emotional proposal at the top of the Castle of Santa Bárbara, in Alicante

If you want to organise a proposal in Alicante you are going to get it right, and more so if it is at the Castle of Santa Bárbara.

We are sure that you know someone who has experienced the magical moment of having someone kneel in front of them, if it is not you! And it is a moment that no one wants to miss out on throughout their lifetime.

Despite being an old tradition, someone proposing is not surprising, and this moment is very special and romantic… and it is even more romantic if the proposal is in Alicante!

Yes, it is not the first wedding we have done with Santa Bárbara Castle in Alicante as a backdrop, and this destination is becoming very popular again for proposals, and no wonder!

The weather, the waters, the light, the incredible views and Alicante bay, all makes the city ooze love and romance in all corners.

We love proposals like this! See about them below.

A holiday marriage proposal

If there is a time to ask yourself if we can organise a proposal in record time, the answer is yes. If you don’t believe so, ask your partner today, for whom we can organise everything 3 days before they come back from holidays!

Yes, if you read, this Belgian couple came for their holidays in Alicante and the groom-to-be was so emotional and in love, he did not want to return home without proposing to his girlfriend.

The whole team from Weddings and Events by Natalia Ortiz put their hands to work so that everything came out perfectly and that the girlfriend suspected nothing… and so it was!

We organise everything in a short amount of time, but, as always… it all went off without a hitch!

Santa Bárbara Castle was the witness

On Mount Benacantil, in Alicante, we found Santa Bárbara Castle that, with wonderful views, was where the groom-to-be proposed to his girlfriend.

Nothing more and nothing less than 166 metres in altitude! Did you know that this space is one of the biggest medieval forts in Spain?

The thing that the couple fell in love with the most were the views! From the chosen spot, the couple could see the entire Alicante bay!

The mediterranean sea is always a good decision for any event.

A resounding “yes” at sunset

It was after the sunset, and at the most magical time of the day, when the groom-to-be got down on one knee in front of his girlfriend and took out the most beautiful ring on one of the towers of the castle, specifically on the Garita de la Campana.

On seeing her boyfriend on one knee and the precious ring, the bride-to-be did not hesitate for a second before saying “yes”. Automatically they embraced each other for a long hug followed by a kiss that finished with the girlfriend flying through the air – emotion and romance everywhere!

The jewellery consisted of a solitaire ring in gold, filled with small diamonds and featuring a green teardrop-shaped diamond – a ring to wear “in style”!

The violin, in charge of stoking emotions

What is a special moment without music? Nothing! Therefore, we take care of having a violin to provide entertainment for such a special and important evening such as this – we do leave out a single detail!

As we all know, there is nothing better than music that stokes emotions and makes the moment something unique, memorable and significant.

A bouquet of the bride’s favourite flowers

The very emotional groom-to-be wanted to present his bride-to-be with a bouquet of flowers before getting out the ring. He tipped us off about which flowers were the bride’s favourites and we immediately went to make a bouquet that she would love.

We put together a dream bouquet that the bride would never forget, consisting of red and pink roses, daisies, yellow Billy balls, white and blue flowers and lots of green leaves.

Comfortable and elegant styles for the big moment

For this romantic proposal, the bride wore a red knitted midi dress, paired with a black leather jacket. For shoes, she opted for white trainers, very comfortable to walk on the cobblestones of the castle! And for her hair, she wore it up in a simple low bun.

On the other hand, the groom-to-be looked classic, simple, elegant, opting for a blue and white striped shirt, beige trousers and some comfortable sports shoes to wear for this magic moment.
