Luxury villa, Altea

It is one of the prettiest towns in Spain

Between two giants of Alicante tourism, Benidorm and Calpe, and also very close to the beautiful beaches of Javea, Altea can be found, one of the prettiest towns in Spain to visit and to get married.

Imagine saying “I do” next to the ocean and aside white houses with blue dome roofs, a mediaeval town, with white rock beaches, walled remains, cobbled streets, dramatic stairways… Altea is magic, arty, historical and it is beautiful.

In recent years, the area has managed to perfectly combine sun and beach tourism and cultural tourism with bridal tourism. We love bride’s and groom’s that head to the Costa Blanca!

The first Orthodox church in Spain can be found in Altea

The first Orthodox church in Spain is in Altea, and it is the perfect place for believers that dream of getting married in this wooden temple along the Alicante coast

The Arcángel Miguel Church is a replica of the Russian Orthodox church characteristic of the 17th century and it was built almost entirely of materials brought directly from Russia. Even the builders were from the Ural region!

The singularity of this temple lies in the fact that, in all 2000 years of Christianity, for the first time in Spanish history, a Russian Orthodox church was built on its land, which became the westernmost point of the Russian Church on the Eurasian continent. It is at the “zero meridian”.

Getting married in the first Russian Orthodox church in Spain, is enviable to say the least.

Beaches out of a fairytale

With 8 kilometres of coast and more than a dozen beaches, it should be emphasised that none of them are sandy.

As you have read, all the beaches in Altea are formed of round white pebbles of different sizes. A huge advantage in terms of the hassle of sandy beaches, and the best part is that they are beaches of great beauty and are nowhere near as crowded.

You will be able to say “I do” on beaches awarded with the blue flag, with views of Calpe Rock, stepping on soft white rocks, between fishing boats and bluer water than you have ever seen.
