A multicultural island

Yes, on the island they love to live with people from other countries and cultures. They are accustomed for decades to feel the presence of millions of tourists who visit them every year and choose their island to become married, and they always integrate everyone without any problem in their culture!

The coexistence between locals and tourists is more than latent, Tenerife being one of the islands that receive more destination weddings than any other Canary Island.

A typical Tenerife banquet

The gastronomy is another strong point of the island. It consists of creative and original cuisine, where products such as tuna, banana or avocado stand out, so be sure to pair your banquet dishes with some of its fantastic wines from five Denominations of Origin!

What will your guests say after tasting a menu full of papas arrugadas con mojo picón, caldo de millo, ropa vieja canaria, sancocho or rabbit in salmorejo? Our mouths are already watering!

Nature of dreams

Tenerife treasures 43 protected areas that occupy almost half of its territory. Among them is, of course, the Teide National Park declared a World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO and where the highest peak in Spain rises: 3,718 meters.

You can climb almost to the top of the Teide by a modern cable car to enjoy spectacular views to get some unique pictures with your fiancé/fiancée, as well as between the forests of Laurisilva. We are fascinated by movie locations like this!

Its mild temperatures

Tenerife is one of the regions with the most hours of sunshine throughout the year in Europe, with approximately 3,000 hours. In addition, its normal climate is between 20ºC and 30ºC all year round. Its summers are not very hot and its winters are not very cold, normally reaching 18ºC.

The mild temperatures that Tenerife enjoys throughout the year make its beaches attract millions of visitors every year!

The best are the beaches

The most striking thing about Tenerife, as well as the rest of the Canary Islands, is its beaches. Possibly one of the first things you do, when you set foot on this island before unpacking your suitcase and taking off your wedding dress, heading to any beach to relax, is the way to go, nothing feels better than relieving the nerves before the big day! A wedding in Tenerife is to live the dream of getting married near the sea.

Do you already know the pros and cons of celebrating a wedding on the beach? Let’s just say there are no cons!

The “I do” among dolphins

The fact is that, in the south of the island, about three miles from the coast, hides one of the jewels of Tenerife: a colony of bottlenose dolphins and pilot whales that populate these waters permanently and which you can enjoy 365 days a year.

The boats that sail from the ports of Los Cristianos, Puerto Colón and Los Gigantes make a journey in which you can certainly make a stop to say “I do”. Nothing is more unique and original than watching dolphins while you are at the altar!

A wedding… to the rhythm of the hips!

Who says that enjoying a wedding and a great event like the Tenerife carnival is not possible? Well, it’s not! Because enjoying a popular party while you get married is not incompatible.

The Carnival of Tenerife, where the Gala of Election of the Queen and the Announcing Cavalcade become a unique event, then the party takes to the streets. Did you know that Santa Cruz holds the Guinness World Record for the most number of people dancing outdoors at the same time since 1987? Within the two weeks of revelry, the parade on Shrove Tuesday in the Gran Coso on Avenida de Anaga stands out. The night of Ash Wednesday is another important date, along with the Burial of the Sardine, which closes with a massive street and night dance. The party ends on the weekend of Piñata, at least in the capital.

The wedding dress and a beautiful costume will share space in your suitcase!

Charming villages to get lost in

Throughout the island, between the north, south and the metropolitan area of Tenerife, there are 31 municipalities, villages and hamlets that will surprise friends and strangers. So if your thing is not to get married on a beach, on a cliff, among dolphins or in any forest, surely your thing is the beautiful villages of the island.

Among them are Adeje, which still retains a certain rural character from when it started out as a small mountain village with its trails and heritage sites; La Laguna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; and towns like Garachico or Icod de los Vinos, home to the famous ancient dragon tree (which is almost 1,000 years old).

One of the best skies

As you read it, Tenerife’s sky is one of the best in the world for stargazing thanks to its cleanliness and absence of pollution.

During the night of your wedding, you will be able to detect craters of the moon or infinite galaxies and nebulae from the very Teide, a privileged place at the international level for stargazing.
