Remember, sometimes less… is more

On your wedding day for sure you will look gorgeous, and jewellery may help you to achieve this effect too. We always recommend our brides not to go overboard, especially if you have a bright or unusual dress.

On the other hand, if you’re planning to wear a simple, classic dress, then some different jewellery won’t look out of place.

The point is to find the right balance so that the outfit will not look excessive and overdone – and keep in mind if your dress has pearls, sequins, crystals, or rhinestones!

The perfect material… any material!

Indeed, yellow gold is generally the preferred material for brides, but trends are changing over time, and now any material is suitable for your wedding, whether it’s yellow gold, white gold or even rose gold.

However, whatever material you choose…

… Don’t try to mix it up!

If you choose to wear yellow gold jewellery, you should have all the jewellery in the same shade. For example, if your earrings are made of white gold, then the necklace and bracelet should be of the same shade because what you are looking for is, as we mentioned earlier, a balance between all details and to get a perfect look.

The necklace depends on the neckline!

If you are thinking of wearing a necklace on your wedding day, but the neckline of your wedding dress is round or closed, such as halter or even halterneck, then…it is better to leave necklaces for another day.

However, if you’re wearing a sweetheart neckline, a necklace is a must, as well as if you’re wearing straps or a V-neck or boat neckline.

Remember that back necklines are on trend now, so another sure hit will be to wear a necklace that hangs at the back. It looks so sophisticated and sensual!

Keep in mind your face shape and hairstyle to choose the right earrings

To find the perfect earrings you must take into account both the shape of your face and your hairstyle. That is why, if you have a face with a round shape, you will look better with elongated designs and worse with hoops. On the contrary, if your face is squarer, you should avoid angular shapes. The same goes for elongated faces, where long earrings are also the least flattering.

Also, consider the hairstyle, if you opt for a low up-do, you’ll look great with round or climbing earrings.

Long earrings are perfect for short hair and updos.

And if you’re a real daring bride… go for the latest trend, the maxi earrings! An XXL jewel that will make you stand out even more.

When it comes to hairstyles for loose hair, look for striking designs of medium or large size, so that your hair doesn’t hide them.

And what about a watch?

Although wedding protocol dictates that a bride should never wear a watch, there are no strict rules anymore. So, skip the rules if you want to!

Just keep in mind that the watch model must be really exquisite and without clashing with the rest of the pieces you have chosen.

At Perfect Venue, we recommend that, if you want to wear a watch, opt for a small, flat face with small jewellery details – extremely elegant and luxurious!

The choice of bracelet depends on the sleeve of your dress

Bracelets are a perfect accessory if your dress will not have long sleeves so that everything does not look too cluttered.

So, you can opt for the classic thin bracelet if you are wearing a medium sleeve or, if you prefer, for a wider bracelet if you are wearing a dress with straps or short sleeves.

When it comes to rings… put the wedding ring first

We don’t recommend filling your hands with many rings. The only exception is one that your mother or grandmother wore on her wedding day!

But remember! You have to wear it on a different hand, not on which your future husband will put your wedding ring. We don’t want anything to go wrong!

Better if you can wear it after the wedding too

Whatever pieces you are going to wear on this special occasion, make sure that you can also use them after the wedding, at a gala dinner, or perhaps at a New Year’s Eve party – we love brides who later wear the precious jewellery from their wedding again!
