It’s not the ‘I do’ that turns a couple into man and wife – it’s the first kiss at the altar
Before any ceremony and before reciting the words that bind a couple forever, you’re given the chance to run away. I reckon more than one person has thought about it, and it’s hardly surprising considering the amount of emotions and responsibility that marriage entails. But when you look in the eyes of the person who’s changed your life forever, every doubt you might have just disappears, and the only thing to do is to seal your love with a kiss.
María and Toni are the sort of couple who know how to express their feelings with a single look. Their photographer, Fran Gribodo was able to capture this complicity and share it with us.
Language of the heart
That nervousness – the sweat on your palms, and that look on your parents’ face, exhibiting all the pride and affection in the world. The moment you put on your suit, do your make-up, do up your dress and walk out the door – no need to speak, just look. Whilst you walk towards the altar, going over what you have to say in your head, knowing that by just fixing your eyes on the other person, you’ve already spoken with your whole heart.
An outdoors wedding
Many people are fans of outdoors weddings, and María and Toni are no exception, although with one very important detail. It’s all very well to organise the food, dancing with your guests and making a wedding book, but what about the children? Those tiny beings that are often left unable to enjoy the day as much as the adults. This detail did not escape our couple. In the house gardens they organised a little picnic, with tents and treasure maps. This way, anyone can go to a wedding.
A party in the air
Everything is important in a wedding, from the catering to the cake, but the most important is what comes afterwards. Music, fun and a big mood to party. It’s in these moments that we bring out our hidden dancing talents, and become kings and queens of the dancefloor.
