Want to reward your employees for their good work? Encourage them to keep growing in the company? Incentive trips are the perfect solution for this. These types of trips are a reward that agencies offer their employees to thank them for meeting their goals, therefore increasing their loyalty and commitment to their employees.

These types of trips can be of pure leisure of combine one of the company’s events with an enjoyable vacation. In 1996, only 26% of the companies used these types of incentive trips for these purposes. From 2016, this number came close to 83% and rose to attract and keep the employees of the millennium. Every year, companies in the United States waste more than 14 000 million dollars in travel incentive programs for their employees.

Can an incentive trip help employees achieve your goals better than an economic bonus? Everyone likes money. But a trip is something special for the employees, since it is not just a payment which will help them pay their loans. This is why these trips play a major role in the employees’ emotional commitment, even if you have to take into account the fact that not all employees will like this type of reward as much as an amount of money.

Factors to take into account

When planning an incentive trip for your company, there are many factors you need to take into account. For example, ask for the opinion of the employees regarding the destinations that they like best and try to do it in the fairest way, first making sure that they have reached their goals.

Also try to make them see the link between the performance of the high-ranking employees and the company’s performance, according to your goals. And at last, find a way to make your best-ranking employees interact among each other as well as among lower-ranking employees to promote shared knowledge and continue to improve.
