Swear eternal love in front of an old chapel

This is how Ro and Mikel got married, heading to an old stone chapel full of vines to become husband and wife.

The chapel in question is the Villanueva Palace chapel, a 13th century building declared a Provincial Monument far from the town.

These temples dedicated to religious worship are usually found in places of sublime beauty, like this one, to which they had to climb a suspension bridge to access it and from where incredible views were admired along the Narcea River.

Although civil weddings are increasingly on the rise, celebrating a religious wedding full of charm and magic is also possible, whether in a chapel, cathedral, church, hermitage…Have you seen the beautiful temples in Spain and do you know what the Catholic rite consists of?

A couple who melted into the environment

Ro, a unique and romantic bride

With a Laura Lomas Designs dress, the bride stood out for wearing a unique dress, since no two women are the same for the LLM brand, a brand that uses artisan techniques and complex embroidery throughout its collections to achieve a sublime and timeless aesthetic.

Ro’s dress was from the “Tentaciones” Atelier Couture 2018 collection, which consisted of a completely smooth pure white straight cut, except for the sleeves, both full of illusion lace and embroidery, as well as the back, which despite being uncovered also had the upper part full of illusion lace and embroidery that closed with three small bows.

With a handmade Hanammi headdress, the bride added the touch of colour through a tiara in shades of blue and bronze, with flowers, leaves and butterflies, adding romance and fantasy. She placed it on her hair, which she chose to leave loose and wavy.

Her makeup was the art of Olaya Brión, a professional makeup artist who started out as an English philologist and discovered that her passion had always been to do makeup.

Olaya enhanced the best of Ro with her high-quality brushes and products, resulting in a most natural makeup with shades in bronze tones to match her headdress.

Mikel, a groom with a different and atypical look

And if you don’t believe it look at all of his clothes! Mikel looked more different than any other groom when he wore a beige linen blazer combined with a basic white shirt and brown trousers, which in turn he accompanied with a beige hat with a black ribbon and dark brown leather boots.

Leaves, the protagonists of the decoration

The sublime and charming bouquet of flowers consisted mainly of green leaves, but there were also small white flowers and other flowers called mother-of-the-evenings.

Green leaves prevailed throughout the big day, since in addition the altar, square in shape and located at the door of the chapel, was formed by an arch full of bright green leaves.

Another type of green leaves were those that fell on the newlyweds when leaving the altar, along with mother-of-the-evenings. An original alternative to the traditional rice!

For the photo shoot, after the ceremony, the bride changed her floral bouquet for a bouquet of sticks with small green and brown leaves to end up posing before the camera by one of the many lakes found on Asturian land.

The tremendous photographs by a professional

Rosa Garrido was in charge of capturing all these photographs in a spontaneous way, as spontaneous as the cows who also wanted to appear in the photo shoot, crossing in front of the bride and groom when they were reading their vows, ringing their cowbells, what fun!
