She Planned the Perfect Proposal for Her Girlfriend Without Knowing Her Girlfriend Was Planning Exactly the Same Thing

Kyra Green and Tal Sahar proposed to each other on the same day without knowing the other's plans. An incredible double marriage proposal between two women.

Planning a marriage proposal for your girlfriend for weeks, creating a fake brand campaign so she would not suspect a thing, organizing the location, timings and even a call sheet… only to discover a few hours later that she had been planning exactly the same thing for you.

It sounds like the plot of a romantic comedy, but this is exactly what happened to Kyra Green and Tal Sahar, who ended up experiencing not one, but two marriage proposals on the same day.

The first took place on September 5 at a Japanese garden in Pasadena. Kyra had prepared everything to propose to Tal without her suspecting anything.

Hours later came the twist nobody expected: Tal took Kyra to Venice Beach, where family and friends were waiting for them. She had also secretly planned her own marriage proposal.

They both wanted to ask the same question. They had both prepared a surprise. And they both ended up engaged on the same day.

It is a beautiful story that proves something we see constantly after 15 years of organizing marriage proposals in Spain and Europe: there is no single right way to propose. What matters is creating an experience that truly represents the two people sharing that moment.

If you are thinking about planning your own proposal, you can also take inspiration from some of the real proposals we have created over the years, such as this marriage proposal in Salou, a marriage proposal on a Madrid rooftop or this LGBTQ+ marriage proposal. Three completely different stories and settings that can inspire you to imagine what you want your own proposal to be like.

Two Marriage Proposals Between Two Women… Just Hours Apart

The first to ask the big question was Kyra.

To surprise Tal, she came up with a particularly elaborate strategy: she made her believe they were going to take part in a brand campaign.

And she did not simply come up with a basic excuse.

She even prepared a call sheet so that everything would look completely real.

The chosen setting was Storrier Stearns Japanese Garden, a Japanese garden in Pasadena that offered an intimate, nature-filled setting for the proposal.

Tal arrived thinking she was taking part in a work project.

But the real reason for being there was completely different.

Kyra had the ring ready and had been planning her surprise marriage proposal for weeks. What she could not imagine was that another surprise was still waiting for her.

Her Girlfriend Was Also Planning a Marriage Proposal

After the first proposal, it seemed that the main event of the day had already happened.

But Tal had other plans.

A few hours later, she took Kyra to Venice Beach.

Family and friends were waiting for them there and, this time, it was Tal who asked the question.

The person who had started the day preparing a proposal ended up receiving one herself just a few hours later.

Both women had been organizing their respective surprises almost simultaneously without knowing what the other was planning.

And perhaps that is what makes the story so special: neither of them was simply waiting to receive a proposal.

They had both decided to take that step.

They Had Chosen the Rings Together

There is another part of their story that we love because it challenges another traditional idea surrounding marriage proposals.

The rings were not completely secret.

Kyra and Tal had previously talked about them and had chosen their respective styles together.

And this shows that knowing about the ring does not necessarily take away the surprise of a marriage proposal.

You can talk about marriage beforehand, choose the ring style each person wants and even know that an engagement will happen at some point.

The surprise can be in when, where and how it happens.

In fact, when we organize marriage proposals, the most exciting part often does not depend on absolute surprise, but on everything that has been carefully prepared around the moment.

Marriage Proposals Between Women: More Couples Are Looking for Completely Personalized Experiences

A marriage proposal between two women does not need to follow a predetermined script.

  • Who proposes?
  • Whoever wants to.
  • Can both women propose?
  • Kyra and Tal have just shown that they can.
  • Do you have to wait for one person to surprise the other?

Not at all.

The truly beautiful thing is creating an experience that represents the couple.

After 15 years of organizing marriage proposals in Spain and Europe, we have created proposals for couples from different countries, cultures, ages and backgrounds. And if there is one thing we know for certain, it is that the best proposals are the ones that stop trying to follow rules and start focusing on the people at the heart of the story.

It can be a spectacular proposal with giant letters and hundreds of flowers, or something much more intimate, with a picnic prepared for two by the sea.

There is no universal formula.

A Picnic Marriage Proposal for Two Women

Precisely, one of the options we particularly love for a romantic marriage proposal between two women is a picnic.

It is intimate, allows for plenty of attention to aesthetics and can be arranged in almost any beautiful setting.

A secluded cove, garden, viewpoint or beach can become the setting for the proposal, with flowers, textiles, cushions, candles, photographs of the couple, cava and all those little details that have a special meaning.

At Perfect Venue, we have different experiences of this kind. For example, you can organize a marriage proposal with a picnic and sea views in Mallorca, with the entire setting prepared in advance so that when you arrive, all you have to do is enjoy the moment.

This type of proposal works especially well when you are looking for privacy and carefully designed aesthetics without losing a sense of naturalness.

A Beach Marriage Proposal for Two Women

Kyra and Tal’s second proposal took place precisely by the sea, at Venice Beach. And the beach remains one of the most special settings for a marriage proposal.

But organizing one properly requires much more planning than it might seem.

You need to consider timings, light, crowds, tides, access, setup, decoration and, especially, have a backup plan in case the weather conditions change.

One option we organize is a beach marriage proposal with romantic decoration, where we prepare the setting with flowers, candles and different decorative elements, while also coordinating professional photography to capture the reaction.

Because an empty beach at sunset may look spontaneous in photographs.

But making sure everything is perfectly prepared when the couple arrives requires very precise coordination beforehand.

You Can Also Create a Completely Personalized Proposal

Not every couple wants to choose a pre-designed experience.

Perhaps there is a city that is important to both of you.

  • A trip that changed your relationship.
  • A song.
  • A restaurant.
  • A rooftop.
  • A particular beach.

Or perhaps you simply have an idea in your head and do not know how to turn it into a real marriage proposal.

In these cases, we can start from scratch. Our service for designing a completely personalized marriage proposal allows us to find the right setting, explore different options and build the entire experience around your story.

We can organize proposals in Spain and different destinations across Europe, taking care of the location, decoration, flowers, photographer, video, live music, food, transportation and coordination.

The idea is simple: you should only have to worry about asking the question, not about checking whether the photographer is hiding in the right place.

The Importance of Making Sure Your Girlfriend Does Not Suspect Anything

Kyra took this to the extreme by creating an entire fake brand campaign.

And although you probably do not need to prepare a call sheet, it is important to think carefully about how you will get your partner to the location.

Especially if you do not usually make elaborate plans together.

  • Dinner can be the excuse.
  • A walk during a trip.
  • A restaurant reservation.
  • A photo session.
  • A weekend getaway.
  • The story needs to feel believable for your relationship.

Because one of the most common mistakes when organizing a surprise marriage proposal for your girlfriend is planning something so unusual that the other person starts to suspect something days beforehand.

The Photographer Is Also Part of the Surprise

In a proposal like Kyra and Tal’s, there is one moment that only happens once: the reaction.

That is why we recommend working with a professional photographer who is experienced in surprise proposals.

They should not be standing directly in front of the couple with a huge camera.

They need to know where to position themselves, when to start taking photographs and how to remain unnoticed until the right moment arrives.

After the “yes”, there will be time for a short photo session together.

But the first photographs need to capture what really happened.

The looks, the nerves, the surprise and that split second when one person realizes what is happening.

15 Years Organizing Marriage Proposals in Spain and Europe

At Perfect Venue, we have spent 15 years helping couples organize marriage proposals, and we know that behind an apparently simple proposal there can be a huge amount of coordination.

Especially when you want to keep everything secret.

We can take care of finding the location, designing the decoration, preparing flowers, coordinating photography and video, hiring musicians, organizing a private dinner, preparing a picnic or designing a completely original experience from scratch.

And, of course, we organize marriage proposals for all couples.

Two women, two men, heterosexual couples, international couples… your story is yours, and the proposal should represent exactly that.

We do not need to adapt your story to a proposal.

We adapt the proposal to your story.

Want to Propose to Your Girlfriend? Here Are Some Ideas

If you are thinking about proposing to your girlfriend and want the moment to be truly special, we can help you organize it in Spain or Europe and take care of everything she cannot discover.

If you imagine something intimate by the Mediterranean, a picnic marriage proposal in Port de Sóller combines a picnic, cava, flowers and professional photography in one of Mallorca’s most special locations.

For a proposal directly on the sand, we can also prepare a marriage proposal in Mallorca by the sea, making the most of the first or last hours of the day.

If you are looking for something different outside the Balearic Islands, a picnic marriage proposal by the sea in Marbella allows us to create a private setting with decoration, a picnic, flowers and a photographer.

And for those who prefer something much more spectacular, we can also prepare a marriage proposal in Salou with giant illuminated MARRY ME letters on the beach.

Because a proposal can be intimate, spectacular, fun, elegant, spontaneous or planned for weeks.

It can even happen that you spend weeks preparing the perfect proposal for your girlfriend, only to discover a few hours later that she was doing exactly the same thing for you.

Kyra and Tal probably never planned to end up engaged twice on the same day. And precisely because of that, they could hardly have imagined a better story.
