You specialize in bridal photography… since when? Why did you decide to take up this profession? What do you find most fulfilling about being a photographer in this field?
I have been a wedding photographer for more than twenty years and, from the first moment, I realized how to tell a story, a script, always with ideas that I improvised before the beauty that every social and bridal reportage represented to me, as well as the beauty and love of the bride and groom.
What would you say sets you apart from the rest? What is your style or your aesthetic when it comes to capturing with the camera?
My charisma, my brain that does not stop improvising ideas at the time of the session, as well as my invention in light schemes so that not all images are not the same composition. In addition to using touches of magic so that the bride and groom have their memories for life.
What is the photography that can not miss in each of your weddings or in each event in general? What is the seal Tony Marín Photography?
In all my events I like to transmit to the bride and groom their cinematic film, narrate their story in a romantic way full of emotions. The photos that convey feelings are the ones that can not miss.
What is your biggest challenge at every wedding?
My great challenge is that the bride and groom remember Tony as the photographer who made them emotional on one of the best days of their lives. That they carry in their hearts that great magical memory sharing it with family and friends.
You define yourself with an artistic style, what does a photograph have to have to be considered a work of art? What inspires you to achieve that art?
Yes, I do. My main value is artistic photography, to tell a story, many images I take are full of surrealism so that the viewer can draw his own conclusion. Every work of art has its own story to tell but, to understand it, the viewer must go beyond what is seen at first glance, beyond the merely visual.
You don’t like posed or group photos, you are more of naturalness and spontaneity, why?
Not all group photos are the same, each one has its own concept. I do my best to make sure that all the photos are dynamic and natural. It is much more close and emotional.
What would be your ideal client profile?
My ideal client is anyone who asks me, who is interested in his or her reportage, who wants to have his or her own work of art to get excited about. In addition to the fact that they value my work.
You are in the top of the best photographers in Madrid, but you also travel all over Spain if the bride and groom require it.
Indeed, as a professional photographer I travel all over Spain. I spend my life traveling around the peninsula, and each region has a particular charm when it comes to making a wedding reportage.
In addition to photography, you also have videography equipment, what do the bride and groom ask for the most when it comes to having a video of their wedding?
We have 4 cameras, as well as complementary videographic material, up to 4 operators. Wedding videos are what most people ask me for, as well as most of them ask for their film trailer as a complement.
What is the essence and what defines your videography works?
Our videos are exciting, full of plot, magical, just like in photography we capture the moments, the emotions, without the bride and groom and all the guests knowing that we have been there, narrating their whole cinematographic film.
Your specialization is in weddings, but you are also an artist of the camera in engagement, pre-wedding, post-wedding…
Indeed, the proposals of marriage are very exciting. In the pre-wedding reportage we tell their story (hobbies they have, a script, a story…). And the post-wedding reportage is a session that I personally love, since the bride and groom are more relaxed after so many emotions on their big day.
If you were getting married and had to hire a photographer, what would you look for in him/her?
I would look for a professional who will capture the moments, emotions, hugs… who will make me an album to remember to show and tell to family and friends and who will offer me the opportunity to take my memory under his arm for life.
And finally, what are your future projects?
My future projects are none other than that my client is excited and remembers Tony Marín Photography as that great photographer who left them excited. And thanks to all the brides and grooms who value us, we will continue to give our best for future events.
