What could be more romantic than a marriage proposal on New Year’s Eve? The surroundings are unimaginably beautiful, lights, garlands, decorations. In the slightly frosty air there is a general cheerfulness. A new year is a new chapter. And how great it is when it starts with the most important thing – the decision to become one family.
Manuel approached us to organize the proposal. He had two wishes: to do it on New Year’s Eve and somewhere in the park, in a beautiful setting. We said it was possible: we know all the parks in Madrid, we will prepare the decor, invite a photographer and a violinist. But there is one nuance.
A marriage proposal on New Year’s Eve: what can go wrong?
New Year’s Eve is the time when everyone is walking in the parks. We warned the groom: you need to be prepared for people watching.
We know this firsthand. When we start preparing for the holiday, decorate the space or the musician starts playing, people around us immediately show interest, come, watch and wait for the action to begin. And when a young man proposes and the bride agrees, the crowd begins to applaud and support the young people.
Of course, it’s great, and someone will definitely cheer up, but sometimes the couple starts to get embarrassed. That’s why we always warn that there may be onlookers, especially before New Year’s Eve.
Therefore, as option B, we proposed Manuel to make a marriage proposal under the New Year as part of a photo shoot. Such a celebration takes place at a private venue. We prepare the décor in advance, and at the proposal itself there will be no one except the couple, the violinist, the photographer, the videographer (if his services are ordered) and the coordinator.
What did the hero choose: public attention or an intimate setting?
Manuel liked the second option, without an audience.
We prepared the decor in New Year’s style and photos of the couple together. When everything was ready, we lay in wait for the heroes. And here comes the car…
The guys are well prepared. The girl wore a luxurious red long dress. The guy was in a strict white shirt.
Note that it is good when a young man warns the second half. Many guys think that if they prepare a surprise, it is better not to say anything. But there is a minus in this. When the girl receives the photos, she is disappointed, since it does not look the way she wanted.
Therefore, it is advised to say that you are going to a restaurant or to a photo shoot, so that the girl dressed and makeup. This moment is very important.
We were looking forward to the couple, the violinist was getting ready to play, but they still didn’t show up. What happened? Why was there a hitch?
As it turned out, the guy offered to put a blindfold over the girl’s eyes so she couldn’t see anything until he brought her to the letters Marry me. But she absolutely refused. And it’s understandable. What if her makeup gets messed up or her hair gets mussed?
In the end the couple agreed: the girl closed her eyes, and the young man led her by the hand to the right place. At that moment the music played, the guy got down on his knee and proposed. The girl, without hesitation, said yes!
Then the guy presented a big teddy bear and we invited the couple for a photo shoot. And they enjoyed it so much that they couldn’t stop! Even with darkness falling, the photographer continued his work and made beautiful shots with additional lighting.

Of course, Manuel is not the first to propose on New Year’s Eve. A young man from the USA wanted to get engaged to his beloved on Christmas Day. So we organized a wonderful proposal on a terrace overlooking Madrid. The area was covered in greenery, and a red carpet decorated with rose petals and candles led to the big letters Marry me.
