An engagement during their holidays in Spain
The groom decided that it was time to go one step further, so he invited the bride to spend the holidays in Madrid and contacted us to organise their proposal during their stay, and that’s what we did! Nothing better to arouse suspicion…
While they took a walk through the famous park of Madrid, the bride couldn’t imagine anything of what was going to happen. The Weddings and Events by Natalia Ortiz’s team took care of organizing everything so that, at the least expected moment, the groom would take a knee in a scene that would fascinate his girl.
And the fact is that on holidays we all feel relaxed and calm, so it’s a perfect time to carry out the proposal with a picnic included.
Retiro Park is a dream place for locals and tourists
In Madrid, right in the centre of the city, you can find Retiro Park, which has become a favourite place for many brides and grooms who want to get down on one knee.
This is one of the most beautiful and biggest parks in Madrid, that’s why the groom wanted to propose here! Because it also has very photogenic places for the marriage proposal, with an endless amount of nature that makes the photos look like they just came out of a fairy tale!
There are different areas perfect for the proposal: balconies overlooking the lake, the Crystal Palace, the botanical gardens of the Rose Garden, bridges, fountains gushing water… and this couple had a green lawn, among trees and very close to the great lake as a backdrop.
Romantic decoration for the picnic scene
When the groom contacted us to organise his proposal in Retiro Park, we prepared different options of how it could be and the one he liked the most was undoubtedly the picnic style.
So, we started to work on preparing the scene of this proposal with a picnic, where we could not leave aside the romanticism. We made a magical setting by decorating the lawn with large letters that made up the famous phrase “MARRY ME“, next to a large heart formed by red petals.
Inside the heart of petals, we placed a white blanket, two geometric cushions, a wooden tray table with glasses, a vase with pink and maroon flowers, napkins and black plates. The picnic for our couple was ready!
Of course, you can’t miss the food
The picnics with your partner are always a sure hit, and it is a quiet and romantic activity, where you will have time to talk, have private conversations in an intimate atmosphere, and perfect to enjoy a delicious meal in the middle of nature after the “I do”.
And that’s what our couple did, enjoying a snack made up of grapes, kiwi, plums, blueberries and cava, they didn’t leave anything on the plate! The groom told us beforehand that the bride doesn’t usually like tropical fruits such as strawberries, so we prepared only her favourite fruits!
The “I do” was filled with emotion
The bride was excited and so happy to discover the surprise that her future husband had prepared for her. She didn’t hesitate for a second to say “I do” as soon as she saw him get down on one knee.
The bride started to cry and we were all in tears!
A boat ride to complete the experience
When the bride and groom sat down to enjoy their meal after the emotional moment, they only had half an hour to enjoy the picnic, as afterwards the couple wanted to book a ride on one of the famous boats on the lake in Retiro Park.
The couple were so at ease at that moment and enjoying each other so much that they wanted to stay longer, they had great difficulty getting out to the boat! So… they will have no choice!
The couple couldn’t have been happier after everything they had experienced and seeing how well everything had gone.
Stylish, elegant and comfortable
On such a memorable day, the bride wore a white and brown dress with a floral print. She combined it with a pair of comfortable white sneakers.
The groom matched his bride’s outfit with a basic short-sleeved T-shirt and light brown shorts, as well as a pair of white trainers.
