In today’s article, we will tell you everything about Olin and Zeth’s LGBTQI+ wedding in Barcelona, which was celebrated successfully despite there being certain problems during the organisation.
This cool, modern couple had to postpone their wedding multiple times and when they were finally at the point of celebrating it, we found ourselves with little time right before their wedding.
Do you want to know what happened? Well, keep reading! But we can already tell you that thanks to the Wedding and Events team, the problem was solved rapidly and efficiently, and the consequences of the pandemic were not felt at this wedding.

A multicultural wedding in a multicultural city
Barcelona is one of the Spanish cities that has been home to many foreign couples and cultures for decades, since all year the presence of millions of tourists that visit it and choose it to get married in and to be tourists is felt.
We usually receive requests to organise weddings for couples from the USA, England, France and some Latin American countries, and even from Africa, so when this couple from the UK contacted us to organise their LGBTQI+ wedding in Barcelona in the capital of Catalonia, we couldn’t be happier.
We were dreaming of receiving their UK guests, from various countries in Europe and even from other destinations in the world! Because we love multicultural weddings and destination weddings.
Some couples were left waiting because of the pandemic
Understand that this wedding was already arranged before the pandemic and, with everything prepared, the moment chosen to say “I do” was in April 2020. But, because of the COVID pandemic which meant the whole world was paused, we had to postpone it for a year.
Unfortunately, when April 2021 arrived, we couldn’t carry it out and, as you know, many countries still had travel restrictions which is why the couple decided to postpone it further until all of the guests could come.
And finally, the moment arrived! The 16th April 2022 was the day in which the couple and their guests could get together to celebrate the marriage. But not everything was so easy! We found a setback that made us panic…
Because of the pandemic, many restaurants and venues hadn’t survived, which is why the venue that we had originally chosen didn’t exist anymore nor was it available, so at the last minute, the couple didn’t have a venue to get married in.
The venue was finally found
When we found out that the venue wasn’t available, we immediately started searching elsewhere, but it is a long process and we had to search for another venue in a very short time.
After a brief search, we found a restaurant in Barcelona, which charmed the couple and they were very excited to get married there.
For this reason, we got to work and adjusted the prices of the providers since it was very complicated for the couple to have to pay for a new venue to say “I do”.
But, even so, everything went perfectly and was arranged in record time!
A marble, stone and wood restaurant
The ceremony, cocktail hour, banquet and party were all in the same place, since the restaurant chosen has a zone called “la cava” to carry out events.
The ceremony and the party took place in a kind of cave formed by stone walls and wooden chairs that were later removed to prepare the space for the party.
The guests tasted splendid plates in a very charming restaurant formed by marble columns, wooden walls, hanging lamps, stone archways, wooden beams, plates on the walls… super original!
An altar of maroons and greens
Maroon is one of the favourite colours of the couple and it was present at the altar, as several fabrics of this colour covered the chairs, the altar table and the carpet of the floor.
Furthermore, everything was found covered with green plants that decorated the venue, as well as small white flowers that adorned the chairs and the couples bouquets and corsages.
Outdoor cocktails and an indoor banquet
Before taking their seats to enjoy the tasty food, it was time to give toasts to the couple.
Outside the premises, tall tables were set up with a variety of cocktails to wet the appetite, to then arrive at the banquet very hungry.
When the guests took their seats, they tasted homemade croquettes, vermouth shots, escalivada, duck confit with foie gras, meat with truffled potatoes… they didn’t leave anything on their plates!
Breakthrough and rebellious styles
The couple who were very different and unique, both showed up in the same suit with a sea blue jacket, but with the novelty of short trousers.
They opted for wearing a white shirt under the jacket and some maroon shoes. The only thing that differentiated the pair was their bowties, since one chose a yellow bowtie and the other a purple one.

A delicious “gentlemanly” cake
A wedding tradition is that the couple cut the cake with a huge knife, and this is exactly what this couple did, smiling and cutting this huge wedding cake.
It was made of two tiers covered in black and white fondant, simulating the decoration of a suit jacket and tie, lapels and buttons.
As a decorative element, ontop it had a shiny silver cake topper that spelled out the date of the wedding and the name of the grooms. Tasty!
A party with spotlights and fans
It was then time to move onto the other styles! And the couple chose to remove their jackets and expose their original shirts, which mimicked a white vest as the sleeves and back were made up of purple and gold print to match their bowties. No one imagined the looks they had under the jacket!
Amongst great music, colourful fans and spotlights everywhere, this couple and their guests had a unique wedding disco with hip hop steps included.

A limo through the city
A luxury white limousine collected the couple and drove them through the city to take photos next to the beautiful sights of the Catalan capital, celebrating with their closest friends and champagne.
Professional photography with a surprising gift
The photography was left to Tanya Vusiliuk who managed to capture this couple in the spontaneity, happiness and naturalness of the moment.
Furthermore, the photographer loved this couple and photoshoot so much that she decided to gift them with a post-wedding photoshoot in Mallorca. We are dying to see these photos!
A spectacular plan
The wedding planning was organised by Wedding and Events by Natalia Ortiz, in which Natalia Ortiz, the best of the wedding planners, put all her love into this spectacular result so that it would be a success despite the setbacks caused by the pandemic. Everything went the way it was supposed to!
