Today we tell you about the wedding in Barcelona between Chris, an American guy, and Carla, a girl from Barcelona that happened on a very cold day when the fire in the fireplace did not stop heating.
The wedding took place in Cerdanyola, Barcelona. We love couples who choose the city of Gaudi to become newlyweds!
As the good destination wedding planners that we are, we loved meeting all the guests from America who came on the groom’s side. Long live multicultural weddings!
We don’t want you to miss anything of this wedding in Barcelona, that’s why, below, we tell you all the details so you can get inspired and get ideas for your wedding.
Get ready!
A house in Cerdanyola and a tree, witnesses to the “I do”
It was in a private house next to the tree where their relationship began that the couple decided to get married. The place was very important to them because it brought back magical memories.
The house they chose to get married in was full of stone walls, sumptuous arches, vines, wooden windows, balconies, staircases… Majestic everywhere!
Getting married in a private home or private villa meant that the service, space and celebration was just for Chris and Carla, which created a sense of luxurious exclusivity, setting the wedding apart from conventional weddings and being able to offer their guests different areas within the same space.
A private house is a safe bet for a wedding in Barcelona!
A ceremony under crystal chandeliers
The ceremony for this beautiful wedding was held inside the private house, in one of the many halls it houses, accessed through huge wooden doors that reached up to the ceiling.
The altar was made up of a banquette for the bride and groom and, below it, a row of green leaves in the form of a vine.
In the space for the guests, white wooden chairs were placed on the chequered floor, which gave a touch of magic together with the large crystal chandeliers, the wooden beams and the warmth of the cookers.
A wedding protected from the cold!
Very charming floral decoration
The decoration of this wedding was based on simplicity, but also on elegance and romanticism. The bride and groom chose to decorate their big day with olive branches, eucalyptus leaves, orange flowers, paniculata, etc.
These were the floral arrangements that reigned in the space and in the bride’s bouquet!
A banquet amongst plaster borders
The banquet was held in another of the spaces of the private house straight after the ceremony.
On entering the space, everyone was stunned to see the incredible display: long wooden tables, green leaf table runners with paniculatas and lots of candles, antique carved plates with floral printed napkins… All very vintage!
Live music to heighten emotions
What’s a special moment without music – nothing! That’s why the bride and groom hired live music for their big day.
A violin, guitar and piano provided the soundtrack to the wedding while a female voice sang live to make the evening romantic, unique and memorable.
And, as we all know, there is nothing better than music to heighten emotions and create a magical atmosphere.
A flourishing cake
In addition to the bride’s dress, the wedding cake is another of the most acclaimed icons of the big day, making the moment of cutting the cake one of the most desired moments after the reception.
This bride and groom opted for a two-tier cake in white tones that was also decorated with pink flowers and green branches. It looked as if the flowers were sprouting from inside the cake!
And, as well as being very original, it was delicious.
Tree of footprints for remembrance
Many brides and grooms choose to make a difference, and that is what Chris and Carla did with their original signature table.
On it, they placed a sheet with a picture of a tree and its branches without leaves. The guests could leave their footprints as if they were the leaves of the tree in green.
For the bride and groom, it was another way to have a beautiful memory of their big day and of their guests in particular.
A couple with some very stylish looks
For the big day, the bride wore an incredible dress full of tulle on the bottom and embroidery on the top, and we loved her back and bare shoulders!
The groom, for his wedding in Barcelona, wore a classic black suit with a white shirt, a black bow tie and a pin with white flower and green leaves, a real gentleman!
