The Palace

The Miramar Palace was built in 1893 at the request of Queen Maria Christina, based on a design by the English architect Ralph Selden Wornum, it is an architectural ensemble of the 19^th century converted into an incomparable setting for all kinds of events.

The Miramar Palace stands out for its history and architecture, but also its garden’s views over the bay and Santa Clara Island.

The Gardens

Pierre Ducasse, a French gardener, was responsible for the design of the gardens of the palace, which are rich in vegetation and colorful floral arrangements. At the front the garden slopes gently down to the sea, between trails and flowery parcels of land, there is a spectacular viewpoint over the bay of San Sebastian.

Eduardo Chillida also left his signature in the gardens of the Miramar Palace. There is a work “Embrace” of unmistakable Basque sculptor in the watchtower over the bay La Concha.

It is a place full of magic, with a multitude of charming and romantic locations where you can take your photo story.

Weddings and Events

There are a lot of halls of great architectural beauty, which are perfect to celebrate a very special marriage registration. Celebrate an unforgettable wedding in an enclave full of history. The Miramar Palace has a wide range of spaces for a tailor-made banquet. White hall (el Salón Blanco), a light-fill hall for cozy celebrations for up to 60 guests, an elegant Music Hall (el Salón de Música) with a capacity for 100 persons. Also, the Palace offers the possibility of hosting weddings for up to 250 guests in several rooms. The bride and groom can enjoy the privacy of the ancient library, a comfortable and stately room with access to the south terrace, and beautiful views of the back garden. An ideal private space to get dressed, change or do makeup.
