Gema and José Carlos’ spring wedding in sunny Seville

After reading this post we are sure that you will end up wanting to experience a wedding in Seville, don’t hesitate and get inspired!

The words “wedding in Seville” brings to mind the sun, the breeze, orange blossom, flowers everywhere – even more so if the wedding is in spring! Spring is when the flowers begin to bloom and the breeze smells of orange blossom.

Gema and José Carlos celebrated their wedding on the 18th March… but wait! We haven’t told you about how they met or the proposal!

The couple met whilst both working as lawyers. After almost six years of love, José Carlos asked Gema to marry him during a romantic dinner on a weekend away in a fairytale hotel in Sierra de Huelva, all whilst Marry You by Bruno Mars was playing in the background!

Can anyone be more romantic than that?

You cannot forget to use this outdoor ceremony on a sunny Sevilian day as inspiration for your wedding in Seville! We will tell you how it’s done.

Hip Hip Hooray!

Say “I do” on the Banks of the Rivera de Nicoba

Ballemari Farm is found in Huelva next to the Rivera de Nicoba and is an idyllic place between marshes that hides lots of history; it was chosen by the couple to be the venue for their big day.

It was built in 1898 before receiving the name Finca Santa Isabel, and stands out for its use as an Oil Mill for more than 100 years. The farm was restored in 2001 to bring together modernity, its setting and its history.

Now it is the place where this couple and their guests shouted “I do” from the rooftops!

Rustic and Detailed Decorations

The Harmonic Flowers

A floral harmony was achieved thanks to La Florería by Josecho, who was in charge of putting together a floral decoration inspired by the French Provence.

He made small adjustments to the bride’s bouquet to match the rest of the flowers in the venue; for Josecho an impossible bouquet doesn’t exist and there is nothing that can stop him from trying! His style combines craftsmanship and trends.

The combination of the flowers was light pink, fuschia, violet, purple, white and greet tones, amongst which the pink peonies, white and fuschia roses, lilac budding lilies and pink wildflowers all stood out.

It was the most special bouquet with a symbolic touch since it had wheat sprigs; a gesture to the father of the bride.

The bouquet was gifted to her sister, María Luisa, and there was also a little book which told her how much she meant to her.

A Lovely Space in the Venue

The room was filled with rustic decorations as it was full of wooden boxes stacked like shelves, where photo frames, green, yellow and pink colored glass bottles, white and lilac flowers, baskets and large green glass vases were placed on the ground…

It matched perfectly with the couple’s personality and the chosen property!

Styles That Were the Talking Point of the Event

A handmade wedding dress with custom designs

Fernando Claro Costura, a Madrid based designer, was the one who dressed Gema. He measured by hand with high quality fabrics and visualised what the bride had asked for right from the start.

The spectacular design consisted of two pieces; the lower and the upper part were completely smooth but the back was an elegant open back design which was also full of floral embroidery.

The couple lived in Punta Umbría, a well known coastal area near Huelva, so Gema wanted her wedding dress to somehow reflect this. This meant that her dress represented the elements of the land which simulated the waves of the sea.

Gema’s father who had already passed away was the most notable absence, as Gema wanted to put the word “Dad” on the buttons of her sleeves.

Her hair and makeup was done by Moisés Giraldo, a professional team that provided specific advice to the bride, thus making it all part of the experience.

Moisés created a wavy ponytail and covered the hair tie with pieces of her hair. He accompanied the hairstyle with an elegant tulle veil and a Luis Bénitez tiara that had pink and white flowers.

The shoes on the other hand, were great fun because they brought out a pop of colour. Gema wanted to surprise everyone by opting for velvet pointed heels in fuchsia pink, red and purple colours from Úrsula Mascaró.

A High Quality Groom

The groom was dressed in a jacket from Cañete, one of the most well known tailors in Seville. The tailor himself, José Cañete, has more than seventy years of experience and every season he uses the best fabrics, resulting in high quality, trustworthy and traditional tailoring.

Cañete didn’t give up until the garment was perfect, well fit and made for the client’s body.

The groom wore a black suit with a beige waistcoat and a white shirt from the tailor’s, a navy blue tie with white polka dots from Scalpers and a pair of Loewe cufflinks which were a present from the mother of the bride.

The Reception: Time to Change the Style

The bride appeared with a different tiara and a bougainvillea cape to match her shoes, like a real fairytale princess.

The bride and groom began the dance with the song “SHE”, which was a surprise for all the guests. After the party and the open bar started, which were very well entertained by a DJ and live music by the group “Pachanga”, who covered songs by Miguel Bosé, Raphael and Spanish pop music from the 80s and 90s…

They all had a great time and the groom took to the stage to dedicate the song “I Can’t Live Without You” by Los Ronaldos to his wife. It was quite the show!
