Spain is leading the growth of industry, spending on all types of meetings and events, even though this year has not begun yet. And neither political nor economic instability can hold them back. All forecasts are optimistic for MICE 2020, as it has been in constant development for more than five years, and this year even greater growth is expected in cities such as Madrid and Barcelona, which continue to be the preferred cities for holding events, being in the Top Ten of the places in Europe, together with London, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Rome, Prague and Munich.
Along with Germany and France, Spain in general is in the Top Three, because it offers great and complete services, such as hotels, airplane, train and car rental, which are being the most used supplies on these business trips, thus boosting the expense in the country.
Specifically, in Spain, which will experience an increase in expenditure of 3.1%, a growth of 2.4% is expected in internal meetings and up to 2.6% in incentives and events in general. The sectors energy, administration and water as well as real estate will see their spending on MICE events rise.
Three to five days are spent on these trips, and the experience of these is becoming more and more important with each trip, as well as innovation and development are gaining great relevance in this type of event in order to attract attention, increase involvement and create an original memory among attendees.
Customization will also be a key point and therefore integrating technology, so in 2020 the budget will also be raised to improve this experience and create an added value, that is intended to be achieved through science and technology to exceed the expectations of attendees, allowing them to become more involved with the event and the destination making you feel part of it, causing sensations and leaving a mark on your mind forever.
In a world of social networks, augmented reality, artificial intelligence and particularly events and special environments, interactions are becoming more and more convenient due to the arrival of new generations to the labor market, which are increasingly demanding due to the environment in which they have grown up.
The MICE organisers are confronted with this new challenge, in addition to the fact that in 2020 more events and meetings are predicted than there are available spaces, and it will be necessary to fight to comply with data protection regulations (regulations that will be tougher in 2020) while providing an unforgettable experience, security and protection during the event.
This country is the second most visited in the world, after the United States, and that is because of its location, infrastructure, good climate, gastronomy and excellent communications. How can Spain not be a safe choice for your event?
