Olivia and Thierry’s wedding at the Cortuja de Ara Christi Monastery can be characterized in three words: energy, personality, and style. The venue was a 13th-century Carthusian monastery; just imagine how many love stories these walls have seen.
The bride and groom, Olivia and Thierry, gave their guests in Valencia a vivid experience that will forever be remembered as a great celebration of love. This wedding was incredible!
Within the walls of a monument protected by Heritage, with endless costume changes, between tiers of cake and lots of partying, that’s the story of this wedding! And you can’t miss it.
We are sure that after getting to know all the details, you will take a lot of notes for your wedding.
Let’s get started!
To be married at the Carthusian monastery of Ara Christi
The magic and simplicity of such a special day took place in a centenary setting. The monastery of La Cartuja de Ara Christi was built in the 17th century. This venue is a monument protected by Heritage and has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest, and is undoubtedly one of the most exclusive venues in Valencia.
This venue is unequalled for its extraordinary beauty and architectural richness, it also has an 18th-century Renaissance-inspired painting, a magnificent open-plan garden of classical design surrounded by lawns, with its centenary palm trees crowning the main entrance. The venue covers an area of 10,000 m2!
Besides, there is the old Prior’s House, which offers rooms and all the services needed for accommodation for the bride and groom and their closest guests during the wedding night. A real luxury!
White roses, the queens of the decoration
The large bouquets of flowers created by Floreale Eventos flooded the wedding venue at the Ara Christi Monastery, where the white flowers and green leaves were set in large centrepieces, in giant vases in the middle of the halls, in the form of towers, next to the cake… everywhere!
Candles couldn’t be missing to add a touch of romanticism as well, so different large white candles in glass jars were placed throughout the venue and on the banquet tables.
All of this, combined with the golden cutlery and crystal glasses on the banquet tables, resulted in a very glamorous decoration.
Live music throughout the entire wedding
Can you imagine a special moment without music? Impossible! That’s why the bride and groom hired live music for their big day.
The professionals at Musical Mastia custom-designed all the music for the wedding at the Cartuja de Ara Christi Monastery, including the ceremony, the cocktail party, the banquet, the bride and groom’s waltz, the party, etc.
As we all know, there is nothing better than music to enliven emotions and create a magical and fun atmosphere at a wedding.
One bride and a few dresses
This wedding was almost a bridal catwalk full of dreamy looks, as she changed outfits four times, each dress was more impressive than the last, all by Vera Wang, but the first one was by Oscar Rent It was a wonder for all fashion lovers!
As you can imagine, her dresses left everyone speechless.
First dress
If we told you that the bride put one of her dresses just for the hair and make-up session, what would you think? Well, it’s true!
The model for the bride’s preparation dress was a gown with long, puffed, plunging sleeves and a sweetheart neckline in a strapless style. At the top of the dress was a large jewel that matched the cuffs of the sleeves. The bottom of the dress was completely made of tulle.
Second dress
For the ceremony and reception, the bride opted for the MARIÓN model. It was a shimmering ball gown of soft gold tone. The bodice was semi-transparent with yoke and illusion sleeves, a floral accent on the shoulders, and the skirt was made of lightweight tulle with a shimmering effect over the hips ending with row buttons.
Third dress
At the beginning of the party, she changed her outfit and put on the MAUD model, a short ballet-style dress made of ivory tulle. The bodice was a draped corset with a straight neckline and thin halter straps fastened with a bow, and the long tulle train gave a totally different look from the back.
And there was even a fourth dress!
In the end, the bride reappeared wearing a fitted mermaid cut gown, with a V-neckline and straps from which fringes fell, and the whole dress was full of embroidery and rhinestones!
For accessories, the bride chose Jimmy Choo bridal shoes, the AZIA sandals, in platinum ice dusty glitter with thin curved straps made in Italy, with a slim heel and a very modern square toe.
For her hairstyle, the bride opted for a half up-do by Stella Yato that matched perfectly with her long veil and pearl tiara.
Party until sunrise
The guests enjoyed the biggest party ever at this wedding celebration. At the wedding at La Cartuja de Ara Cristi Monastery, they were treated to an exquisite reception, a dance area where DJ Alex Cuajares and DJ Lewat performed their best music tracks, all with a light show.
Film photographs and videos
Audio Probe was the videographer at this wedding and Víctor Aláez was in charge of the photo shoot of the big day, which was accompanied by photographer Luã Araújo, both of them achieving, as a result, spectacular video and fairytale photographs.
