2. Enjoy the musicals and theatre shows

3. Take a boat trip

You couldn’t leave Madrid without rowing through its beautiful lake in Retiro Park, where you can also admire the breathtaking glass palace and lose yourself wandering down the park’s paths, as well as visit the old cowshed or the fallen angel.

4. Stand strong at Kilometre Zero

At the Puerta del Sol you can find the legend of the Kilometre Zero, where even at some occasions you will have to queue a little, because nobody wants to leave Madrid without a photo of themselves standing in this emblematic spot. Here, you can also find the Bear and the Strawberry Tree, which is the symbol for the city.

5. Explore the Los Austrias district

Right in the centre, this is the most historic neighbourhood where you can discover the history of the court, with a visit to lots of squares, cathedrals, monasteries, basilicas and palaces.

6. Try the cuisine

Lose yourself in the markets of Madrid, such as the San Fernando Market or that of Anton Martín, the San Miguel market or that of San Antón in Chueca, where you can enjoy drinks and tapas. Oh, and don’t forget to try the local food, or churros with chocolate! This is a star dish in this city.

7. Fun is guaranteed at the theme parks

Madrid has a variety of parks where you can make the most of nature as well as adrenaline, such as the Zoo-Aquarium, Faunia, the theme park of Madrid, or the Warner Park.

8. Take a visit to the museums

Did you know that there are more than 36 museums in the capital? Don’t forget to go to one to enjoy art in all its points of view and forms, for all tastes and ages. Take a stroll along the path of art, which features some of the most important museums: The Prado, the Reina Sofía and the Thyssen museum. 

9. Go shopping

The Salamanca district is par excellence a stroll filled with fashion, luxury and sophistication, with numerous shops such as shoe shops, jewellers and handbag shops with big brand names. It’s all so tempting!

10. End your day with the best sunset

At the Egyptian temple of Debod, a magical place with the Guadarrama mountain range in the background, you can see one of the most mythical sunsets in all of Madrid.

11. Dance until dawn

At every super relaxed bar, on the streets in Huertas, Chueca and Malasaña or at the nightclubs such as Kapital or New Garamond, any district is perfect for having the most fun, all night long!
