History

Cap Rocat, located in a 30-hectare enclave declared a nature reserve with 2km of protected coast, it’s the most secluded and exclusive hotel in the Mediterranean. 

Its restoration was a great challenge, as it’s located in a fortress built to guard the Bay of Palma, declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and listed as a National Monument, meaning that it must comply with strict regulations. But Cap Rocat was finally completely renovated by Antonio Obrador, who managed to respect its unique architecture and protect the natural environment. Among other awards, this project was awarded the Europa Nostra Prize for highlighting the cultural and natural heritage.

The stateliness of the fortress, which manages to blend in perfectly with the landscape creating an oasis of peace, and the avant-garde renovation of the hotel, offers every possible comfort, making everything even more wonderful than it seems and making you feel like you’re in paradise. At the top of the fortress you can find the viewpoint and the panoramic terrace, where you can enjoy the incredible sunsets over the Bay of Palma with a Mediterranean dinner or a cocktail on a summer night with the sea breeze.

Cap Rocat has two restaurants, La Fortaleza and the Sea Club, both based on a love of Mediterranean and Mallorcan gastronomy. At the Sea Club you can enjoy traditional flavours and the simplest, most natural preparations, whilst at La Fortaleza you can enjoy the most avant-garde techniques and the most creative dishes.

In the most protected part of the fortress, 12 metres underground, is the hidden spa, where you can relax in silence, tranquillity, surrounded by aromas, pampering, salt water and natural light.
