If your briefcase could talk, what secrets would it share about your work?

If my briefcase could talk, it would be like a diary full of exciting stories. It would hold memories of the nerves before the big day, the laughter I share with my brides, the tears of emotion that come spontaneously, and also the silences filled with concentration. But above all, it would reveal that behind every makeup look there is always patience, love, and understanding, because every bride deserves to feel special and unique in her own moment.

What is the strangest or most unexpected thing a bride has asked you to do or cover up?

The most unusual thing I’ve ever been asked to cover up is wrinkles. Many people think makeup can completely erase them, but I always explain that our job isn’t to perform miracles, but to bring out the best in each person. That’s why I insist so much on pre-skin care: healthy, well-treated skin makes any look look much more natural and flattering.

Have you ever had a bride cry with emotion when she saw her makeup done? What was that moment like?

Yes, and those are moments that move me deeply. I’ve seen several brides burst into tears when they look in the mirror, and it always gives me goosebumps. I especially remember one who told me she saw me as her fairy godmother, and those words have stayed with me forever. Those moments remind me why I love this job so much.

What’s your makeup guilty pleasure?

I confess that sometimes I like to apply a touch of blush on my eyelids, something that isn’t the most conventional, but it adds a beautiful harmony to the makeup. It’s a little trick that adds freshness and creates a balanced look, without needing to use a thousand products.

What was your favorite look throughout your career and why?

I have several looks that represent me, but one of my favorites was a style with glam waves and an elegant ballerina bun. I love it because it reflects a perfect balance between sophistication and naturalness, and I think that contrast is the essence of bridal makeup.

Have you ever improvised a product in your makeup in Madrid with something that wasn’t meant to be?

Yes, more than once I’ve used lipstick as blush or even as eyeshadow. Sometimes improvisation opens the door to discovering new ways to beautify and brings freshness to the creative process. These are resources that also prove that with creativity, you can achieve unique makeup in Madrid full of personality.

What song would you always play in the background while doing your brides’ makeup?

The music depends a lot on the bride’s mood. Sometimes I prepare a relaxing playlist to calm nerves, and other times I let them choose the songs that motivate them the most. Ultimately, makeup is also an experience, and music is an essential part of that atmosphere.

If you could only use three products to do a bride’s makeup, what would they be?

Without a doubt: mascara, blush, and concealer. With these three basic products, you can achieve fresh, natural, and flattering makeup, ideal for highlighting beauty without overpowering it.

What makeup look would you never recommend for a wedding, even if it’s trendy?

I would never recommend a completely black smoky eye. It’s a very dramatic style that, in my opinion, overly harshens the look and doesn’t convey the freshness or luminosity that a bride usually seeks in her makeup in Madrid.

If you could do the makeup of any historical figure at their wedding, who would you choose?
I would choose Grace Kelly. I’ve always found her style sophisticated, glamorous, and classy. I think working with her would have been a dream for any makeup artist.

What was the craziest, most eccentric, or funniest wedding you’ve worked on?

I remember a wedding where the guests were so angry that everything became completely chaotic. They were shouting and arguing, and the tension could have been cut with a knife. It was awkward, but at the same time, it taught me how important it is to stay calm and focus on my work so that the bride wouldn’t be affected by the atmosphere.

If you had to come up with a cocktail name inspired by your makeup style, what would it be?

I would call it Bridal Glow. It reflects exactly what I aim for with every makeup look: for the bride to shine brightly, to feel radiant, and for that glow to be the best accessory on her big day.
