This international wedding in Barcelona tells the love story of Aiden and Nicolas, a couple who chose Spain to say “I do” because destination weddings are in fashion!
And why in Spain and Catalonia? Well, because it was the middle ground between the two countries. Yes, being one from the USA and the other from Vietnam, Spain was perfect for them when it came to moving the guests and having a dream wedding, and since our country offers so many possibilities, it wasn’t difficult at all.
The truth is that they were not looking for Catalonia specifically, they were sure that they didn’t care about the part of the country where they wanted to celebrate their wedding as long as it was a movie location. And they found it!
After showing them countless proposals of spaces they fell in love with one: El Castillo de Tamarit.
The Tamarit castle, a complete dream
The bride and groom were able to get married overlooking the sea and surrounded by centuries of history in one of the most distinguished spaces in Catalonia. This is an exclusive space overlooking the Mediterranean, located 10 km from Tarragona and 80 km from Barcelona.
This space was bought by an American art collector who carried out a complete restoration of romantic type, standardizing the different buildings, but keeping all its Romanesque and Gothic elements. Since 1988, the Castell de Tamarit has been considered an Asset of Cultural Interest.
One of the main characteristics of the different spaces of the castle is its exquisite decoration, which is cared for down to the smallest detail. The ornamentation of the banquet halls lingers in the memory of all the guests, as well as the gardens facing the sea, the impressive swimming pool and the large, brightly lit hall.
A ceremony overlooking the sea
In the middle of the castle, and overlooking the sea, we carried out the entire ceremony of this international wedding in Barcelona, which was filled with flowers from Botanica Barcelona.
The altar was decorated with pampas, dried leaves, flowers in shades of orange, maroon, pink … A chromatic range that resulted in the color ocher.
The floral decoration was placed in front of white geometric structures, matching all the chairs of the attendants to the ceremony.
Romantic banquet at sunset
The banquet of this international wedding in Barcelona at the Castell de Tamarit was held on the top of the castle, which is a completely open space, so it was clear that it had to be outdoors!
The banquet was made up of several long wooden tables, on which we placed candelabras with tall candles and vases full of pampas and flowers, as in the ceremony. Another very original detail is that the plates of this banquet were square.
The best thing is that the place has its own kitchen, which is responsible for preparing various types of menus adapted to the requests of the guests.
The gastronomic proposal is based on local and quality products, taking Mediterranean cuisine as a starting point and betting on tradition accompanied by touches of signature cuisine with a clear objective: to make the guests fall in love through the palate.
Another thing that also made the guests fall in love was the sunset and all the garlands of lights that were lit on them while they tasted exquisite dishes.
A very exciting cake cutting
One of the most awaited moments arrived: the cutting of the cake. What no one imagined was that it would be a roar of laughter and applause.
We put on the cake several sparklers of cold fire that no one expected, so when fire and sparks started to come out, everyone began to scream with excitement and applause, just look at the look of circumstance on the bride and groom’s faces!
The delicious cake was three-tiered, and also decorated in tune with the floral decoration of the big day.
Styling to match
For their international wedding in Barcelona, both bride and groom were dressed very similar: with a cream/beige suit jacket, brown shoes, white shirt and a matching pin to match the rest of the decoration.
As a complement one groom wore a mint green tie and the other groom wore a bow tie in the same shade.
We love these looks so risky, so fresh and that fit so well with the space and the environment of the Mediterranean Sea!
A traditional wedding car
Getting to the altar, to the banquet, or moving around the space can be in the vehicle of your choice. There are couples who opt for motorcycles, others for limousines and even couples who opt for caravans, but this couple opted for their international wedding in Barcelona for a bright red vintage car that undoubtedly caused a furor among all attendees.
The page boys were also present at this international wedding in Barcelona.
The Vietnamese girl relative of the groom threw rose petals after the “I do”, with an overwhelming energy and innate happiness.
A bridal dance in regional costumes
For the first dance the couple wore traditional Vietnamese costumes, where they were accompanied by balloons illuminated to the rhythm of the music.
