La Antigua Fábrica de Harinas, a movie location
La Antigua Fábrica de Harinas is an estate surrounded by gardens and natural canals in which stands out a villa built in the early thirteenth century, and that in the 80s of last century was recovered to turn it into an emblematic space in which to celebrate weddings.
It consists of fourteen hectares and four thousand square meters of buildings dating from the fourteenth century, and the best thing is that the Antigua Fábrica de Harinas is located very close to the capital, just one hour from Madrid.
In addition, it has a great history behind it, since back in 1210 the existence of a flour mill, owned by the Dominicans of Alcalá de Henares, was reflected in the documentation of the time. This mill, in the 18th century, nothing more and nothing less, passed into the hands of the Franciscans of Torrelaguna.
In the 19th century, the disentailment law of the minister Mendizábal meant the change of ecclesiastical property to private hands, with the consequence that at the beginning of the 20th century the mill was abandoned.
Later, in 1985, the mill was acquired by the businessman Manuel Castiñeiras, who initiated a process of several restorations that have managed to return to this beautiful place its splendor and beauty of past times. Special care has always been taken to respect the natural and architectural environment.
Simple but colorful decoration
As the space itself is already beautiful, it doesn’t need too much decoration, but what we did want was something that would stand out against the green of the gardens.
Therefore, for this shooting at the Antigua Fábrica de Harinas we carried out a very natural altar. We took advantage of the aisle with the tall trees and made a half moon on the floor to decorate the altar with multicolored flowers: pinks, blues, greens…
A bride with Rosa Clará’s stamp
The dress that the bride wore by Rosa Clará, had a princess cut at the waist, from which flowed a delicate skirt made of tulle. It dazzled with a V-shaped open back to the waist and a wide skirt made in natural color with a long train.
The bride also opted for a hairstyle with a headdress by Musa de Miel, a brand of accessories from Madrid.
The great potential of the Antigua Fábrica de Harinas for your wedding
Having the Antigua Fábrica de Harinas for your wedding is an incredibly original and unique idea, as you can take advantage of the historic charm of the place by using vintage decor that complements the atmosphere of the venue, for example you can incorporate elements such as antique candelabras, rustic wooden furniture, soft fabrics and industrial details.
By also having outdoor areas, you can use these spaces for a civil ceremony, for the reception or even for the photo shoot.
Undoubtedly a memorable space that will surely impress your guests and give you unforgettable memories of your big day.
