Catalonia is a province that has everything: sea, mountains, gastronomy, history, culture, art, good weather, an infinite number of neighbourhoods… You’ll find it all in each of its provinces! Whether in Girona, Tarragona, Barcelona or Lleida.
It was difficult for us to choose a province, but this couple, who by the way met in Russia, chose Girona to celebrate their wedding and this spectacular farmhouse for their day!
Our bride and groom and their guests were delighted with the wedding day, they are in love with Spain and Catalonia! That’s why now they want to come back one day to celebrate their anniversary here too.

Carly and Thomas flew in all their guests from Canada, Russia, parts of Europe, and America – a real international wedding!
We’ll tell you all the details below.
The space is an 18th century Catalan house
The farmhouse where the couple got married dates back to 1282, and it is located on a hill at the foot of the Montseny mountain range. The bride and groom said “I do” to each other between walls of irregular stones and granite ashlars, surrounded by evergreen Mediterranean forests, among cork oaks, pines, and bushes, a wedding in the middle of a forest!
They were married in the church, as the area has one that was rebuilt in 1801. It is a simple and austere building, with a nave topped by a semicircular apse and two side chapels on each side. It also has a bell tower with a two-sided belfry, a unique setting!
A mystical decoration
The bride’s bouquet had mainly garnet, mustard, and white colours, as well as the green and brown of the leaves, just like the groom’s boutonniere!
The banquet was decorated with a series of candles of varying heights, which were placed amongst the many dishes, this added a touch of mystery, magic, and romance to the event. The table was set in a U-shape, a real trend!
A couple of Canadians in love with Spain
Being lovers of the country, Carly and Thomas could not miss at their wedding a corner dedicated to local products, such as ham, cheese, chorizo, or salchichón… What a feast!
Perfect look
The bride chose for her big day a white dress, with an A-line cut. The upper part was made up of thin straps, open back, everything was full of floral embroidery, while the bottom was simple and classic, making the difference in a side neckline, through which the bride’s leg was slightly visible, completed this elegant look.
As for the hairstyle, for her red hair, Carly opted for light curls that she covered with a long veil.
On the other hand, the groom opted for an anthracite grey suit consisting of trousers, jacket, and waistcoat, which he wore with a white shirt and green tie.
Last-minute changes
The wedding took a year to organise, but over the year there were many changes.
First of all, the bride and groom wanted an outdoor ceremony and wanted to have more classical decoration, but as the preparations were going on, the bride and groom preferred to sit in the centre and place the guests around themselves.
And so, we did it! But indoors, because on the day of the wedding we had to put Plan B into action as it was raining, and everyone was equally pleased!
A day to remember
