Petfriendly Beaches

As a pet-owner, when you are looking for a hotel, you can refine the results by applying the ‘admits animals’ filter to find a good place to stay for you and your dog.

We think that the more well-behaved dogs and dog-owners that there are, the more likely it is that other locations will open up access for pets. For this reason, we suggest that you inform yourself of the local rules for each beach that you visit to avoid fines from 90 to 3000 euros. This all depends on the season and the region.

To the Beach!

The following list includes many beaches with dog-access as well as the services that each offers, specifically for pets.

1. Agua Amarga beach (Alicante)

This beach, located between Urbanova and Alicante, is a new beach specifically for dogs and has 250 metres of sand. It has other services such as parking, adapted access and lifeguards.

There are various services that dogs can use at the beach. During the summer, there is a specialised shop that sells everything you need for your dog: leads, toys, collars etc. There are game areas, doggy umbrellas, food and drinks to name but a few.

2. La Rubina (Costa Brava, Girona)

La Rubina beach can be found next to the Natural Park of los Aiguamolls de L’empordà in Costa Brava. The beach is full of fine sand, perfect for your dog.

Dogs with good behaviour can even eat and drink in the dog restaurant on the beach! A large beach with crystal clear water.

3. O Espiño beach (San Vicente do Grove, Pontevedra)

In the Galicia region, there are two beaches that allow dogs: O Espiño and O Portiño. With fine white sand, the two beaches offer spectacular views of the surrounding nature and the Atlantic ocean.

4. Na Patana (Santa Margalida, Mallorca)

Pets can enjoy the sand of the Na Patana beach in Santa Margalida, Mallorca. To reach the beach you have to walk your dog on the lead while you cross the neighbouring beach San Bauló.

Even though the beach doesn’t have services, the views are certainly worth it, especially when you can pass the time with other dog owners.
