1. How did your journey in wedding photography begin, and what made you realize this was your calling?

After graduating with a degree in Audiovisual Communication and earning two master’s degrees in photography and marketing, I worked in various media outlets and decided that photography was my true passion. This path expanded from social photography for media outlets to a well-known wedding brand in Alicante.

After several years there and becoming a professional in wedding photography, I decided to assemble the best team and create my own brand, incorporating my unique perspective and experience.

2. If you had to define your photographic style in three words, what would they be and why?

UNA’s photographic style is natural, spontaneous, and timeless. It’s a classic style that never goes out of fashion.

3. What role does naturalness play in your approach to wedding day photography?

Naturalness is paramount, but it’s always combined with what the UNA style embodies: the essential photos we believe every wedding should have (like group photos), even if they aren’t the defining ones, and the spontaneous, magical shots.

Delivering a complete and carefully considered style is what sets you apart, especially in a profession with so much competition.

4. How do you make couples who aren’t used to being in front of the camera feel comfortable from the very beginning?

That’s the most important work we have to do; every couple is unique, even though we sell a specific style. The empathy of the entire team is key to making UNA couples feel comfortable.

5. How important is light to you, and how do you adapt to changing spaces and situations?

When we receive photographer resumes every week, we think about this. A wedding is a completely uncontrollable situation, which is why it’s important to hire a professional team. Light is a whole world in itself, and it’s very important to control it.

6. What’s that moment in the wedding that many people overlook but that you consider key?

We believe the preparations are undervalued and actually play a crucial role in the wedding story.

7. How do you balance the artistic side with the responsibility of documenting a once-in-a-lifetime day?

As I mentioned before, a complete job means understanding that a wedding isn’t a branding or advertising commission; you’re dealing with people, with the most important day of a couple’s life. You have to guide them and not let your photographic ego show. You have to demonstrate your artistic eye and deliver responsible and balanced work. It’s important to showcase your work well so that couples choose you wisely.

8. What do you try to capture beyond the “important” moments in a wedding’s storyline?

What do you see that I don’t see? Trying to go beyond being a mere spectator, to align your head, your eyes, and your heart.

9. What has been the biggest technical or emotional challenge you’ve faced at a wedding?

I think we all feel overwhelmed by emotions, and every now and then a tear escapes us. That moment when someone talks about a loss, for example; you’re human too, but you have to document it and make it beautiful, you have to confront your own emotions and keep going, keep going.

10. How do you manage unexpected events so that the couple doesn’t even notice them?

We always say that the important thing is to be a brand, to have several members. A wedding has many unexpected events; if something happens to someone, you won’t notice anything. Someone else, a regular member of our team, will take over. If there’s a plan B in our organization, you won’t notice a thing.

11. What differences do you notice between weddings now and those of a few years ago?

Weddings now are much more carefully planned, at least the ones we usually work at. Everything is thought out, studied, and arranged. They really are completely different.

12. What advice would you give to a couple starting to plan their wedding who still don’t know what kind of photography they’re looking for?

I’d tell them to visit a website, look at a complete portfolio (not just what’s shown on social media), and trust their photographer.

13. What still excites you after photographing so many weddings?

When you take a month or two off, you feel like you want to get back in the game. When you’ve worked 10 weekends in a row, you’re exhausted, but if you take just one break, you want to come back. A wedding is intense; it’s emotion after emotion.

14. Looking to the future, what would you like to continue exploring or evolving within wedding photographers in Alicante?

With humility, to continue learning. Studying trends and always looking for ways to improve. But without losing the essence of what UNA is.
