Who says summer is not a time for celebrations? Take a look at this bride and groom! They celebrated their wedding in Huelva in the middle of the afternoon in August, so they could enjoy their wedding on a hot summer night.
Huelva is not just that that magical place that borders Badajoz to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the south, Seville to the east, Cádiz to the southeast and Portugal to the west, but it is also an area of contrasts, of different settings, rich architecture, cultural and natural heritage and gastronomy…yummy!
But can it have more? Yes! Because the two places where the wedding took place were classified as Asset of Cultural Interest.
For this and for much more, you have to see in great detail what the celebration of this fantastic wedding in this Andalusian province was like!
Let’s get started!
Two different venues for the ceremony and for the celebration
La Iglesia de la Purísima Concepción
Located in the historic centre of the city, on the corner between Concepción Street, this was one of the first Spanish churches dedicated to the Immaculate Conception denomination and the one chosen by the bride and groom to get married in a traditional and religious way.
Its Mudejar style links it directly with the architecture of the moment in western Andalusia, presenting two clearly differentiated styles: the Mudejar style of the 16th century and the Baroque style of the 18th century.
A ceremony that, in addition to being surrounded by a lot of love, affection and emotion, was full of art and history.
El Convento de la Luz (the Convent of Light)
Just 25 km from Huelva Capital, the Convento de la Luz is a magical place to celebrate a unique moment such as a wedding.
This Mudejar Gothic style monumental complex stands on a hill near the town of Lucena del Puerto, so it also has unique views.
The majestic Convento de la Luz, from the 15th-16th century, full of flavour and history, offered the bride and groom the different spaces of the venue, both open and closed, to carry out the welcome cocktail, the reception and even the after party.
That is why Toñi and Dani did not doubt for a second that this place had to be the chosen one!
Classic, simple and at the same time refined decoration
Flower arrangements
Antonio Rivera, a specialist in the floral art of brotherhoods, weddings and decoration in general, was the one who produced Toñi’s bouquet. It was full of little white flowers, like lily of the valley, which accompanied a lot of green leaves and a white ribbon that tied the stems.
At the entrance to the Convento de la Luz, where they arrived in a beautiful Rolls Royce, a wooden sign was placed that encouraged everyone to have a great time along with several flower arrangements made up of white and pink lilies and different types of green leaves.
And for the reception…
The tables were placed in the majestic central nave of the convent! All of them round with white tablecloths, where dusty green plates and the menu knotted with string next to a lilac were placed.
The guests were able to enjoy the prestigious catering of the venue, that of Nuestra Señora de Guía, which presented a mixture of dishes with various national flavours.
Toñi and Dani managed to surprise their guests by placing a corner/buffet only with types of cheese in the venue. Who is not a cheese lover?
What great style the bride and groom had!
For Toñi…
Nothing more appropriate than a Pronovias dress, which, tight-fitting, showed her entire back. Composed of a long sleeve, with feathers at the cuffs and a side opening, it gave a one of a kind touch of seduction and elegance.
As accessories, the bride opted for white court shoes and also for a large tulle veil.
The makeup was done by Moisés Giraldo, creating smoky eyeshadow in brown and black tones with fine eyeliner. Regarding the hairstyle, the artist himself managed to collect all of her hair and arrange it into a casual low bun.
The preparations were so fun, toasting with wine!
For Dani…
An elegant Armani tuxedo, which he combined with a white shirt and a series of accessories: black patent leather Oxford shoes, a black bow tie and a brooch with flowers from the bride’s bouquet.
But this was not everything, since Dani wanted to play with his style by adding different cufflinks to his look: one in black and the other light blue, by Emidio Tucci.
The groom’s hairstyle was created by Fernando Palacios, who, with more than 25 years of experience in this sector, collected all of his hair in his characteristic ponytail which he later shaped into a bun.
For the page boys and the flower girls
The two little flower girls wore dresses in white shades and a belt like a pale pink sash, how cute were they with the flower crowns to match their little bouquets!
Like the two page boys, who with a shirt and white Bermuda shorts and a pale pink sash to match their bow ties were very cool and funny!
