When thinking of Mallorca geographically, the north and south generally have the largest beaches, due to the width of the island, whereas the east has small secret coves and the west has a mountainous terrain. Therefore, the best places to look are north, south and east Mallorca.
The best beaches in Mallorca:
Portals Nous Beach
Near Puerto Portals marina you can find Portals Nous Beach. The bay area has crystal clear waters and is the perfect place to swim. Furthermore, there are also many options to take part in water sports, from hiring pedalos and learning how to paddleboard to even having a go at jet skiing at the marina.
Cala Formentor
If you travel to the north of Mallorca you will find Cala Formentor Beach, one of the most famous in Mallorca with 1km of sand. The beach’s location is incredible, surrounded by plants and from the beach you can even see the bay of Pollença! The only real negative is that it is quite narrow, so it is not ideal for children to play and make full use of being on the beach.
Camp de Mar Beach
Located near to Andratx is Camp de Mar Beach, a beach with beautiful golden sand and sparkly water. If you want to do something extra special then you can even dine at the restaurant at the end of a bridge in the sea.

Cala Deià
Cala Deià, a small cove, is found on the west coast of Mallorca and has two fish restaurants. It is a very famous cala for the famous people who stay nearby and a beautiful environment to enjoy!
Cala Varques
Cala Varques is a natural beach, one of many found on the east coast of Mallorca. If you are looking for something hidden, natural and private, this is a true treasure! The cala is far from hotels and 20 minutes from the nearest road.
S’Amarador Beach & Cala Mondragó
These beaches, located in the south-east of the island in Mondragó Natural Park, are unique in their own right. They are joined by a coastal path and are quite popular among visitors due to their natural beauty and incredible sea.
Cala Mesquida
Cala Mesquida is a charming cala located in the north of Mallorca, with white sand and beautiful water. If you fancy staying nearby, there is a hotel and some bars and restaurants to make your stay even more enjoyable!
Cala Pi

Port de Pollença Beach
Located in the north of Mallorca, this beach has lots of loungers, great restaurants, shops, bars and it even has a lovely marina.
Sant Elm Beach
Located in the south-west, Sant Elm is a small beach with a lovely view of Dragonera. Given its close location, you can even opt for an excursion to visit the island of Dragonera! Sant Elm beach also has everything you could need, such as showers, sunshades, loungers and toilets.
Playa d’Alcúdia
