Santa Florentina castle

History

Santa Florentina castle is located in Canet de Mar, in Catalonia. It was built from an old roman house and in the XI century was a fortified house in order to fight with pirates. In the XIV century the castle was a beautiful great house thanks to its owner, Ferrer de Canet. The castle was property of this family and in the XVI century the Montaner family became also owners of the house until today.

In the XIX century, Ramón de Montaner i Vila ordered the modern architect Domènech i Montaner to restore and  expand the castle. He designed 3000 m2 of Santa Florentina with a lot of religious elements, marble pieces, wood ceilings, iron, stained glass windows and sculptures.

The king Alfonso XIII gave Ramón de Montaner the title of Vall del Cannet Count.

If you want to get marry as princes and princesses, Santa Florentina castle is the perfect place, because it is available for rent and celebrate any event. It has great lounges full of history. It is also a really good place to celebrate anniversaries, christenings or a private family and friends dinner.

It has a big lounge decorated with old furniture and art pieces. It has also a winery, an beautiful courtyard and a nice porch where you can organize private and company events.

Main Lounge

This lounge is named as Salón del Trono and it’s an spectacular place full of art and medieval elements. It has 258 m2 and a capacity of 120 people (banquet) and 200 people (cocktail).

Courtyard

The castle has a beautiful courtyard with amazing columns, arches and capitals.

Winery

The winery of the castle is an open and beautiful space.

King’s room

This is the room where king Alfonso XIII slept during hist stay at the castle and it has a big bed, an spectacular chimney and stained glass windows.

How can we pay? To book a date you have to sign a contract and pay 25% of the rent price.
Do you have time limit? The dance can be until 2.30-3.00 am in the winery, but you must turn down the sound from 1 am.

Santa Florentina castle is located in Maresme coast, 47 km from Barcelona and 59 km from Girona. It is 1 hour by car form El Prat Airport.
