Abi and Scotty and their wedding in the Castell de Tamarit, a fascinating fort on the shores of the Mediterranean sea

Abi and Scotty and their wedding at Castell de Tamarit, a fascinating fortification on the shores of the Mediterranean.

This wedding at the Castell de Tamarit in Tarragona tells the love story of Abi and Scotty, an Australian couple who chose Spain to say “I do”, because destination weddings are in fashion!

The bride and groom had always been sure that they would choose Spain to get married, as they love our country so much that they wanted to celebrate their wedding in a historic Spanish venue, and they were sure they wanted it to be a castle!

The bet was a magnificent Catalan castle, where even Andrés Iniesta himself married Anna Ortiz in 2012.

Did you know that even the famous singer Tom Walker was a guest at this wedding? Yes, as you read! So don’t miss the details of this unique wedding… And get ideas for your own!

The Castell de Tamarit, any couple’s dream

The couple were able to get married with sea views and surrounded by centuries of history in one of the most distinguished venues in Catalunya. This is an exclusive space overlooking the Mediterranean, located 10 km from Tarragona and 80 km from Barcelona.

This space was bought by an American art collector who carried out a complete Romanesque restoration, standardising the different buildings, but maintaining all the Romanesque and Gothic elements. Since 1988, the Castell de Tamarit has been considered an Asset of Cultural Interest.

One of the main characteristics of the different areas of the castle is its exquisite decoration, which has been carefully decorated down to the last detail. The ornamentation of the banqueting halls will live on in the memory of all the guests, as well as the gardens facing the sea, the impressive swimming pool and the large, brightly lit hall.

It is worth noting that this castle is responsible for overseeing the organisation of the floral details and the design of the room to achieve an ideal atmosphere that awakens the senses of hosts and guests.

Everything is taken care of down to the last detail!

An outdoor ceremony amidst white flowers

The emotional moment of vowing eternal love to each other was filled with classic and romantic decorations.

The altar was made up of a golden circle filled with green leaves, large vases with green leaves and white flowers on both sides and white chairs for the guests.

At the beginning of the aisle, several wooden boxes were also accompanied by several vases of flowers and baskets with rose petals to throw to the newlyweds.

The bride’s bouquet was also made up of a series of green leaves combined with different types of white flowers, highlighting the roses, paniculatas, and some flowers also in pinkish tones.

Delicious gastronomy and classic decoration

The venue has its own kitchen, which prepares different types of menus adapted to the requests of the bride, groom and guests.

The gastronomic proposal is based on local and quality products, taking Mediterranean cuisine as a starting point and betting on tradition accompanied by touches of signature cuisine with a clear objective: to make guests fall in love through the palate.

The cocktail party for this wedding at Castell de Tamarit was held in the gardens and by the pool, where wooden tables, wine barrels and round tables with white tablecloths were set up, all with views of the sea!

For the banquet, long wooden tables were set with wooden chairs accompanied by a white cushion.

On the tables there were green leaf table runners, wicker plates, clear embossed plates, silver cutlery, candles and a myriad of garlands of lights that were lit at sunset and filled the space with even more romanticism.

Two dreamy outfits

The bride, perched on towering glittering heels, wore a dress with a voluminous skirt full of tulle. The upper part consisted of a plunging neckline, thin straps and embroidered with lace and transparencies.

For her hairstyle, the bride was clear that for her big day she wanted her hair loose and full of waves, windblown hair to give it all!

For his part, the groom chose for his wedding at Castell de Tamarit a white embossed shirt, a black bow tie, and a blazer and black trousers in the same tone.

The groom, the touch of colour was in his socks, as they were printed with palm trees and virgins, we love it!

A cake… or more than one!

In addition to the bride’s dress, the wedding cake is another of the most acclaimed icons of the big day, making the moment of cutting the cake one of the most desired moments of the reception.

This bride and groom did not opt for one cake, but several, arranged in a multi-tiered structure. These were made of white fondant and decorated with small olive leaves.

Sometimes less is more!

Video and photographs tattooed on the memory

Santi Cayuela, from Cayuela Videos was the videographer of this wedding and Juanlu Rojano was in charge of the photo session of the big day, both of them achieving as a result a spectacular video and beautiful narrative and documentary photographs.

In addition, they managed to capture all the emotions and all the details of the most important day of Abi and Scotty’s life.
