So, if your body asks you for a wedding among the heat, the so blue and crystal-clear Mediterranean Sea, good gastronomy, incredible wines, nature, warm sunsets, etc. give it what it’s asking for and organise your wedding in Mallorca.

Do you know the reasons for getting married on this island?

Mallorca wedding - Perfect Venue

1. Mallorcan weather, one of the best that exists

The island has one of the best Mediterranean climates of all of Spain, and with 300 days of sunshine a year…why not!

A destination that invites you to visit it at any time of year, since its winters are not cold at all and it has very little rainfall, and in summer the temperatures do not exceed 30ºC. Get your suitcase ready!

2. More than 300 coves and dream beaches

Mallorca has a privileged coast, full of coves and idyllic beaches of crystal water and golden sand beaches, far from the stress and the noise of the city, encouraging calm at all times.

Like the beach of Palma, the beach of the capital, which is 4,600 metres long and has a blue flag every year, in addition to Cala Varques., Cala de Sa Calobra, Cala Torta, Playa de Muro, Caló des Moro…Take note of them all!

3. Mallorcan gastronomy, with a reputation

Yes, the island also is full of gastronomic delicacies with which you will want to have a second helping of, such as, for example, one of its specialities, ensaimadas and cocas, the star dishes of Mallorcan pastry.

The sobrasada also stands out, known all over the world because it is incredibly good, so don’t forget to put it among the starters of your wedding!

And for the main dishes…rice and soup in any version! Because in the Balearic cuisine hare rice, brut rice and lobster rice can’t be missing…and neither the stir fry soup, bread soup or soup with spinach and bread.

4. A sublime artistic-cultural heritage

Now the island is a cosmopolitan, modern environment full of proposals for all tastes, but the best thing is that it combines this avant-garde with a rich cultural and artistic heritage, housing patios, museums, art galleries, emblematic buildings, a majestic religious architecture….not everything is sun and sand!

5. The city of Palma hypnotises

Did you know that the Palma, the capital, is considered one of the best cities in the world to live in? In this city, despite not being big, you can find everything.

In its corners, the old is combined with the modern, the rural and the Mediterranean to perfection.

Some of the things that you cannot miss when travelling to Palma is its impressive cathedral called La Seu, as well as the bay located directly in front, the Palau de La Almudaina, the bustling Santa Catalina neighbourhood, the Meseu Es Baluard, Sa Faixina, the well-known James III street or the Passeig d’es Born.

6. Natural landscape

As we have previously mentioned, Mallorca is not only sun and beach, but there is also cultural and… natural heritage! Like in Soller, where there is a radiant Botanical Garden full of native Mediterranean flora.

Also of great attraction is the S’Albufereta natural reserve in Pollença or the Sierra de la Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site as a cultural landscape due to human and natural union.

The Natural Park of S’Albufera, Sa Dragonera and Sa Mondragó and the caves of Drach and dels Hams are other places that nature lovers cannot miss.

7. Enoturism (wine tourism)

And not just any wine tourism, but with a Denomination of Origin. So wine lovers can also take advantage of their wedding stay to enjoy different tastings.

Among the Mallorcan red varieties, the most abundant is the black mantle, the basis for the production of most of the island’s red wines. Some of the most popular wineries that are worth visiting are the José Luis Ferrer Winery, the Ribas Winery and the Ángel Wineries.

8. Summer nights

At night the island invites you to go out to dance, walk and have a drink because its streets are full of life thanks to the rigorous live jazz performances, the excellent venues and the terraces full of people ready to disconnect and enjoy.

A very summer atmosphere that also occurs in the old town, with a much more bohemian environment but that also witnesses great couples and friends dining and toasting.

When we say that it has everything, it is because it does!

The venue consists of the fort itself, with an additional seven villas, two swimming pools, and a studio included in its 11,840sqft of landscaped grounds complete with olive trees and palm trees, and the fort’s 15,360sqft of terraces. Son Marroig

getting married in Mallorca

Owing to the beautiful marble temple on the side of a cliff with 360° views of the sea, Son Marroig has transformed into a quintessential lavish wedding venue in Mallorca. Previously owned by Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria who first visited the island in 1867. He spent a lot of time in Mallorca and published books about the ethnography and nature of the Balearic Islands. He adored the Tramuntana mountains and bought many villas and estates between Deìa and Valldemossa with the objective to preserve the region from being built on and over-developed.

The Archduke was a futuristic thinker with his ideas of conservation and is well-regarded by the Mallorcan locals. Son Marroig has been converted into a museum including a number of his personal photos, artwork, furniture, and pottery.

In the beautiful gardens you’ll find the luxurious white marble temple in a neoclassical design which the Archduke constructed as a location to admire the enchanting view of the sea and the peninsula of Sa Foradada. It’s not hard to understand why the temple is a captivating setting for a wedding, however a wedding here requires bringing all the equipment and seating, so we’d recommend enlisting a wedding planner to help.

It is a 45-minute drive from Palma and has a maximum seating capacity of 120.

A beach club with a huge pool and access to the sea which permits adults only.

When it comes to the history of Mallorcan beach clubs, Mhares Sea Club possesses its own chapter. Mhare is on the original site of the previous Beach Club Delta, which was one of the first clubs to open on Mallorca, when it launched business 38 years ago.

The new club has been the subject of a huge renovation development in which no details were left untouched. Hours of planning went into the project from the name – Mhares is a synthesis of mar (sea) and the sandstone – to the precise colour shade of the furniture (when one couldn’t be found, one was created). The two primary colours are blue and beige, signifying the sea and the stone.

In the initial months of 1600, members of the merchants’ union began to discuss the necessity of a fortress to guard and defend the port of Palma to the west of the island, in the location of what was an ancient Roman port called Porto Pi. In 1610 it is suggested that building finally began at the selected location. It was given the name San Carlos because the Viceroy at that time was Don Carlos Coloma, Marquis of Espinar. In 1981 it was converted into a military museum. Protective fortification of the mole of Portopí, built in the 17th century, and a military museum containing military and war items from the Middle Ages up to the 20th century.
